Hi,

In my opinion it would be much easier for you to marry in your own country Cambodia, getting a visa to enter Finland to marry will be difficult as they will check your relationship with your boyfriend to see if it is genuine especially if you have never met only on internet.

Hi bm50,

we have been in relationship more than 5 years, i have visited Finland a few times and he visited here several times, and we never lie about anything so i believe immigrations should not suspect on our relationship. Getting married in cambodia with foreigner is such a pain in the ass. super expensive (not only official fee ....) . and so much time consuming (the earliest application that can be success would take several months) and a lot more none sense docs requirement. one of cambodian lawyer actually suggest me to do in finland, though he doesnt know the law in finland. ... im actually lost and cannot figure the correct / best way to do it ...

If you show up with a broken toe, they will ask your credit card and send you out the door escorted by the security guards if need be. If you show up with renal failure, they will save your life and bill you later.
FYI - I had this exact situation. That's not the way it worked at all. I went in with a broken toe. They treated me as I assume they would have treated a Finnish resident (x-rays, taping, loaned me crutches, recommended a follow-up appointment in a few weeks). About a month later we got a bill in the mail. It was around 180 euros.

i received the visa but I am now stuck with my single certificate because ministry of foreign affair do not legalize for me. they simply said that they want us to marry in a country and not outside the country. is there a way that finnish embassy would certify my single certificate without MFI stamp? example notary public etc ... :?
