Weird issues with pharmacy keeping stuff in stock?

Post by ilikepeanutbutter » Wed Sep 13, 2017 1:22 pm

Anyone else been having this issue?

The past half a year almost I've been trying to buy prescription ear drops, they don't have it in stock. It's a "shortage since the manufacturer won't deliver" it or something.

I had to call 3 different pharmacies to get my inhaler as well. Thankfully found one and they reserved it for me. That wasn't in stock either at most local pharmacies. One pharmacist told me that they have no idea when the next shipment would come as well!

Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks!

kat

Wonder if it's linked to that?

Another example of Finnish project management at its best?

Any updates on the metro, anyone? Oikiluoto?

Nah, for me that sounds like a typical SAP rollout. Also Accenture has their paws in that soup.

To be fair, I had that happen in other countries, too. At one time I had to take something they still had the license on, so no other company produced it, and it was one of a kind. They kept saying, next week, and next week, so the pharmacies themselves did not know what is going on. Finally they admitted they just stopped producing it. Why, thank you. How about telling that before I am on the last few pills in the last bottle, and need an emergency visit to try to find something else.

Maybe would be worth it to find out whether they stopped production, or to look in other countries. My fave doc here told me once she would try to find me stuff that is not produced here.
