Hi all,
I am going to Moscow in November and I made an appointment online at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Finland (Helsinki) website. I have an appointment time but there is nowhere on the site that tells me where the appointment is at. Do I need to go to the Embassy of the Russian Federation at Tehtaankatu 1 B, 00140 Helsinki?
Or do I go to the Russia Visa Application Service Centre at Urho Kekkosen katu 7B, 3rd floor, 00100 Helsinki?
I am confuzzled.
Also, as a U.S. citizen, do I need health insurance documents?

Where to go? Well, which location have you selected? It's right there in the last step of your visa application https://i.imgur.com/CoCjUGU.png
Do you need to show insurance? Well, why not check the list of required documents? http://www.vfsglobal.com/russia/finland ... ourist.pdf this FAQ http://www.russianvisa.org/faq.html#13

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Can I go directly to the Embassy of the Russian Federation? Going to this Visa application center in Urko Kekkosen, there is a service charge of 26 euro. Is it possible just to go to the Embassy to bypass these fees?

You need to go where you select in your application.
