Re: Citizenship Application 2017
Update: I got my Finnish citizenship today in exact 4 months and I applied in Helsinki.
Rough timeline:
- Applied: End of July
- Stage 2: End of October
- Decision: Earlier today (27.11.2017)
Can't complain about the processing speed in the end and I wish you good luck to all who are waiting!

Re: Citizenship Application 2017
I am another passive user of this thread and I have received my decision yesterday around 16:30 after around 3 months and 20 days.
I did not make any contact with them during the process except providing the information they asked through enterfinland.fi
Here is my timeline
02.08 proved identity in Helsinki Migri
21.10 Supplied August, September, and October payslips without being requested after having read some posts on this thread, hoping to somehow speed up the process
18.11 Stage 2 and requested additional documents related to my overseas traveling during the last 4 years
28.11 Received positive decision
My background:
East Asian, male, 27 years old, single, YKI level 3 received 04.17, bachelor and master degrees done in Finland, working fulltime as an engineer during the last 2 years (since Summer 2015). I don't think I have a clean police record as I did commit 1 law violation back in 2011, but I was only given a bill, not imprisoned, this was my only concern when applying for the citizenship.
lived in Finland under eight B permits from August 2008 (I was 18) until August 2016, one A permit until August 2017, had a 5 years A permit at the point of applying
I hope these information could help someone like your information has helped me feeling better while waiting

Re: Citizenship Application 2017
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know whether the processing times depend on a service point where you prove your identity? Some of the service points seem to be busier than others, so I was wondering whether the application goes into some centralised queues or local queues depending on the location of the service point.
Thank you!

Re: Citizenship Application 2017
Hi,
Hope all of you are doing well.
I would like to get information from you guys regarding my wife's citizenship application. I recently got my citizenship. Now my wife is planning to apply for citizenship but she is here in Finland for 3 yrs and 1 month (since November 2014) as a spouse with A permit visa. Any suggestions from you guys, what is the requirement of the total resident period for a spouse of a Finnish citizen? Do you think it will be a good idea to apply already now or she needs to wait for few more months? Official process time is the 8-9 months in Migri web page though shorter in practice. I appreciate your suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
