Hello,

Since there is a discussion now about the residence period, I would like to share mine to get advice from you. So I have applied to the citizenship after I had B permit for one year and 6 months and after that I had A permit for 3 years and 3 months. I have also passed in the YKI.

Do you think that this would qualify me to the "strong ties" case ?

Thanks!

Hello, I had received this reply for my inquiry from Migri: 'Sinänsä esimerkiksi henkilö, joka täyttää kielitaitoedellytyksen ja jolla on kiinteät siteet Suomeen (Suomen kansalainen perheenjäsen tai useita A-lupia), on oikeutettu 4 vuoden asumisaikavaatimukseen.'

So, I understood 'useita A-lupia' as several A permits.. I had 2+1+1 A's.. but only one A permit for 2 years, and the rest is B for example.. can it be sufficient for strong ties?? :? I really don't know..

Hello,

I think what matters more is the length of each lupa.

So did you have 4 years on B-lupa and then after that 2 years on A-lupa ?

Did you get a reply on your application ?

I think you can apply=) I guess strong ties and living period are not the same thing, but in any way you've got *several A-type permits" and total accumilated time is 4 years with your B-type included.

I had 1-year B first, but there was an interruption during the year, therefore it is not counted as asumisaika.. Then I got 2-year, 1-year and 1-year A's only, in total collected 4-year of A, and got the citizenship..

Hello,

It looks like that the process is really faster nowadays. So is it now 4 months only ?

Could you please update your situation when you get the decision.

Hi,

Does anyone know if you receive an email when it moves to the next stage?

Hi guys!

I've been following this thread and last year's citizenship thread altogether for more than a year now and finally it's my turn to contribute :D
I proved my identity on the 1st of Feb in Helsinki and received positive decision on 5th of June. I submitted updated account statements, pay slips and travel info on 22nd of May without any request. I was asked for an additional info on 31st of May and answered the request on the 4th, then got the decision next morning :)

SunnyFin,

No, you don't get notified when it moves to the processing stage, only if they need additional info you'll get notified. And when you receive the decision you also get the notification.

Good luck to everyone!
