My (Finnish) wife and I (an American) are seriously thinking about moving to Finland soon.
Does anyone know if American football is widely watched/played in Finland these days?
Are their any causal leagues for adults who want to play touch or flag football?
Thanks for the info - it may make or break my decision to move!

Depends on what one means by "widely", there are teams around but ice hockey, soccer, Finnish baseball... are much more common and likely to have as a team sports hobby. Definitely a niche compared to those. There's information on https://jenkkifutis.fi/ (in Finnish only, generally one thing to be aware of is that not everything is provided in English).CaliforniaTim wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:25 pmMy (Finnish) wife and I (an American) are seriously thinking about moving to Finland soon.

Thanks for the replies. For anyone else that is curious, I dug a little deeper in the website https://jenkkifutis.fi/ and looks like there several Division III teams in smaller cities like Vaasa and Joensuu.
There is also a a country-wide flag football tournament that plays its final at the SM-viikko. https://sm-viikko.fi/briefly-in-english/
Still depends where we end up, but it looks promising!
