Anyone in stage 2 here for longer period ?
My application went to stage 2 on 6 March after 2 weeks I was asked for some supplements since then no response.
I called Migri they don’t say anything only wait ..

My application has been now on stage 2 for more than a month now on top of 21 months waiting period it’s making me too stressed….

Anyone with same exp ??

Hi all, I had a chain of tight communications with migri regarding their citizenship process, so it was not like they replied me wait for 23 months, I over-came that stage with serious questions. I have now more visibility how things work inside based my email chain. I don't want to share them simply b.c. this might increase number of applications processed within 6 months (if everyone knows it), which, at the same time, will lead that applications in a longer queue will be processed longer.

But what I can say you, if you are not refugess etc. came with residence permit etc.
* You don't need to worry if your application in a longer queue. It doesn't mean you are special or something wrong with you at this stage
* You cannot do much about that, in fact, if they give you exception, they need to review exceptions for everyone else, otherwise this will discriminate them, so just wait...
* Service point you visited for verification doesn't matter in which queue you are

Sorry, I cannot share much, as I don't want to affect 2022 processing, but I have some explanation on paper what happens inside which explains a lot, and what migri really needs, in my opinion, is to re-allocate resources and start processing more older applications.

According to information received from the Finnish Immigration Service, the average processing time for all citizenship applications in November 2023 was 487 days. The average processing time for citizenship applications of persons granted refugee status has been 788 days. On the other hand, the citizenship applications of persons who have received secondary protection have been processed in an average of 784 days. The average processing time for citizenship applications of stateless persons has been 747 days.

It's obvious they need to reallocate resources. You wouldn't expect any organization to be processing applications from both ends of the queue, to the detriment of people in the middle.

I have never once thought that my application is taking longer because I'm some sort of "problem case." My situation and circumstances couldn't be clearer and more verifiable. Some people have wrongly assumed that if your case hasn't been processed in under a year, there's something wrong. Nope, it's simply because of the way migri is tackling the queue, from both ends.

I am following this forum often and I'd like to share my application progress. I applied on May 20, 2022 and still in stage 1, which is over 21 months waiting . I sent Email to Migri and got reply that they are backloged and processing cases in earlier May, 2022. Hopefully the decsion will come soon. I keep updated.

still waiting for final decision, I will update one more time when the decsion is made.

Decision is made on April 18.

Frankly, I won't apply if I had known that I need to wait such a long time, I have no emition about this anymore, but thanks to this forum, which has helped many applicants for emitional support during waiting period, and I hope everyone will receive their decsion in a good timely manner. all the best!
