Applying for Citizenship 2024
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I checked the 22 april details. There is 2252 unique queue position. That's there is huge drop happening when the cases move. Kamu seems to not show exact place of you but groups you with other 15-20 people. Any thoughts?

I collect data using Go and do data analysis in Python.Indian_Dude wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 10:03 pmThanks for the nice visualisation. Is it written in python? Indeed you put effort on writing the code. When you got the decision everything will be lost. So wondering if you could upload it in the github .
It is on github, but in private repo for now, because besides reports which I publish here I have some tracking related to my own application.
I am probably not going to publish my code until I get decision, because I would like to avoid everyone running this script and overloading Migri's website. But I am ready to share the info which I already have.
As soon as I get the decision (which I hope to happen before December 2024), I am cleaning up my code and publishing it so that someone on this forum could take over it.

Thank you very much. It's very kind of you to be so willing to help.just_passing_by wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:35 pmUpdated the fileBoston_MA wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 3:05 pmWould it be possible for you to upload a link to the data in reverse chronological order or split the data into two files? The file is now too big for me to be able to download all of it and because of how it is now ordered, the new information isn’t part of the part of the spreadsheet that I am able to download.
It may help others if I note that with the data file in reverse chronological order, the real_seq data ( and other columns) are ordered high to low one year at a time. Thus I first filtered the "date" column data to obtain only the rows with the date 2024-04-22. With the resulting filtered data I then sorted the "real_seq" column from low to high to obtain a final spreadsheet of data for 2024-04-22 in proper chronological order.

If the median now is 13106, approximately when would 134xx be processed? 2 weeks time?just_passing_by wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:26 amThis week's stats:
Total processed: ~168
Total processed above threshold: ~105
Processed above threshold to total processed ratio: ~0.62
Threshold processing median: ~13106/310/2023
2022 processing median: ~4939/310/2022
New applications created: ~172
Data: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WioxNs ... sp=sharing
Another thing for my friend, hers is 126cx. Does this mean she is in the longer queue?

Yeah, 2-3 weeks.
Yes, she probably passed the "sweet spot" and is going to have to wait for ~23 months.

Hi,
Currently, I have been working for the same company for 4 years (yearly extended contract). I applied for Finnish citizenship at the end of March 2024.
I wonder what will happen if my contract will not be extended (ended in August 2024) and I will get paid from the unemployment fund?
Will it affect the decision?
Will it get rejected automatically when they process my application while I am under the unemployment fund?

That's perfectly fine that you get money from the unemployment fund. Question is more about if you permit is to be canceled? if you have permanent residence permit or other non-work related permit such as based on family ties or you are an EU citizen, then it is fine.dilema wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 2:13 pmHi,

Hello, Mine went to "in process" on Friday. Do you know how long it might take?

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hello everyone,
would like to report my case that has got a positive decision today.
A Russian national.
Arrived from Germany to Finland and started working in Data Analytics with a German Blue Card in August 2019.
Finnish permit A from October 2019.
Another permit A from October 2021.
Applied for the Finnish citizenship with my wife and children on 23.10.2023, confirmed identities 27.10.2023 (Tampere)
Dairy numbers 133XX and 133XX, initial queue position around 8100.
Went to "in progress" on the 23.04.2024 in the morning, last queue position 5538. Both applications' queue numbers were 1:1 all the way.
Positive decision made on the 23.04.2024 in the evening.
I was concerned about how it impacts the application process that I have started the job without a Finnish residence permit, but a German one. It is all legal as the Blue Card allowed to work in any other EU country for up to 3 months, but still I thought of that as a potential questionable point.
Also was concerned about the fact that during living in Finland I have spent quite many days in Russia:
250+ days in total over 4 years, including also few longer vacations there for about a month.
Was still ok by the end of the day, obviously.
I would like to thank all the members of this forum for providing their information and sharing thoughts.
Special thanks to just_passing_by for the great data work that helps the transparency of the queue.
Good luck to everyone in the application process!

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Do we know sometimes decisions are made quickly after going in the "In Process" state and sometimes not. Any insights why it takes longer? Mine is in process since last week.
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I have permanent residence permit right now. You said it is perfectly fine, does it mean they will/may approve my citizenship even though I am under unemployment fund? Or will they reject or put on hold my application until I get a new job?Uskomaton wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 5:07 pmThat's perfectly fine that you get money from the unemployment fund.
