The number of accepted students. To pass the entrance exam, be accepted to the school and to accept the study place and enroll in the school. Statistically if theres 2-300 applicants on a course where they take 20-60 students.Hassane wrote: Is the Finnish government grant funds for the polytechnics universities based on the number of Accepted applicants to the Entrance exam ??

I wonder if you got refused simply because you applied for a visa just to come for the exam? They would then think that perhaps you don't get into the school and then just stay here?
Couldn't you have just originally come on a tourist visa just to take the exam and then gone home and if you got into the school apply for a permit to come back and study? Your chances of getting the visa would have been much higher then.
Also it's verr difficult to get into any kind of schooling here, as one other poster told you about. That also would have been a negative thing against you.
There's really nothing you can do. People get denied all the time. A lady I know what studying here already and needed to get another permit to stay and continue her studies and she got denied for no reason at all. It's just the way it is here. You probably won't ever get any reason why.

Well, even if you come for the test you are supposed to go back home and wait for the results and then apply for the student permit. And because of Schengen, the person can just "disappear"... and Finland gets the blame.Flossy1978 wrote:I wonder if you got refused simply because you applied for a visa just to come for the exam? From what there has been posts from guys from Egypt on this forum getting a visa or residence permit is quite hard. Apparently there is a problem that too many people have abused the system so now they don't believe anybody.

hi all, i am a company owner that has 14 employees in turkey, i am 28 years old, i had a 20.000 € in my bank account, reservated 4* hotel in the middle of the city which i gave 100€ for only the reservation, flight tickets were reservated, and i gave all the documents they wanted for a tourist visa. i wanted to be in helsinki which i really wonder how the city is. i only wanted to be there for the new year.Flossy1978 wrote:Couldn't you have just originally come on a tourist visa just to take the exam and then gone home and if you got into the school apply for a permit to come back and study? i have taken the refusal which was based on "The purpose of your intended stay is unclear".
Is this fair?. the fin consulate or embassy has made smt. wrong i think...
So, I'm not the only one. and this time the Refusal Stamp has given for the tourist Visa too according to the same reason.younger wrote:i have taken the refusal which was based on "The purpose of your intended stay is unclear".

So, who is welcome to Finland ? only Eu citizens ?
The ones with Clear and Valid reason to come to Finland have no problems. Ask this question to the embassy rather than this forum!!Hassane wrote: So, who is welcome to Finland ? only Eu citizens ?
You cannot blame the University as they are not aware and dont care how you come here..
You cannot blame the consulate as if they dont see a valid reason they must refuse a visa ( fear of someone coming here and then *poof* )
There is then only one left...The one who applied for the program and the visa in the first place..
Moreover, you could have asked the university that you applied whether they will be able to offer this exam in the Finnish consulate ?
if they re willing to do that and then you pass the exam, your visa situation would be way more different than it is now..
don't you think I did that ?
I've contacted the university not via emails but by phone to ask them if it's possible to held the entrance exam in the Embassy ! and the answer was no.
and lately I knew that no one from Egypt has got the visa to do the entrance exam !
I assure you I did everything in the proper way to get the visa. and my intention to stay in finland for week was so abvious and clear.
and to be honest they didn't treats me badly. No I can't say that they were nice and all the time you can see the smiles on there Faces. even when they give me my Passport back with this bad mark (( you can notice the Smile simply)).
