The thing I was wondering - would you benefit from any Spanish books in Finnish, for Finns to learn Spanish?

(that is the teacher's book with the translations???)

Yep Meksikosuomen, my avatar comes from a Posadas draw. And you are right, learning the language without being in the place where you can hear it constantly is not an easy task, however i think that it will help you a lot. One friend improved her Finnish by watching The Simpsons while living in Finland, but I wonder if in Mexico you can get any dvds in general with Finnish subtitles.

Hank, I have seen that for the Finns is quite easy to learn Spanish, the spelling is quite straight forward, and has no further complications when you learn the basics (of course is a rich language too). I was sort of doing exchange language meetings with a Finnish friend and she sort of learned few basic things quite fast expesially by combining audio with writing exercises. In general Finns are not bad at learning languages because at school you are taught quite a few.
