Hi to Everyone!

I applied for citezenship in the furst days of July 2023. Today (21 Dec) my queue number is around 5030. How long should I wait for my application to be processed? Do people who applied in July got there decision already?
Just behind you in queue few spots, applied 3rd July and visited Migri Lahti 4th July. :)

Cheers!

Thanks, are you still waiting or you got a decision already?

It was in Turku, but I don't think service point matters. My application and visit days are 1 day different than yours. Also, still in Stage 1.

Thanks, How many people who created application in July and visitied migri in July got a decision already? If anyone on this forum, please, let me know. My queue moves by 14-24 places every day. So slow. I wonder if migri is slow in December or they process applications above my queu number. But for me it will bee soon 6 months of waiting, in first days of January 2024.
I visited migri in Kuopio on July 10th, no answer so far. It's moving a bit slow, probably because it's December. However, it seems some people's applications already have been processed.

I do think that service points matter. For example every friend who went to the Vaasa service point waited over two years while every friend who went to the Oulu service point waited maximum of six months. So Yes service points matter.

Anyone on this forum who went to Vaasa and waited less than 2 years?

How about other service points like helsinki, lahti, tampere, or lappeenranta?

Over 2 years is 24 month. On what grounds did your friends apply as for work-based permit this well above estimates provided by migri? I also think that from region where ypu live more people go to Vaasa than to Oulu as Oulu is far away. That is why you think that servicenpoint matters.

I decided to go to Oulu for my citizenship application as well. Based on my experiences with my friends. Four of my friends who went to Vaasa waited over two years. Three friends who went to Oulu got their decision in less than six months or six months max.
I am on permanent residence. And I applied for permit extension for my son at Vaasa. His one year permit just expired and I decided to renew at Vaasa. You'd think it's a straight forward case and he will get it quickly but it's on the seventh month now still on stage one for such a straight forward case for my son. So just imagine what happens with citizenship application at that same place. I believe they just accept your application and put it down the pile.

I guess this is the state of superstition. I just was reading about one lady who applied 1.5yrs ago in Lahti and still waiting... she is frustrated... and what about those who do not need to visit service point these days? Anyway, as for PR it is delayed for many people these days based on
what I see in Facebook groups.

I fuess that application was already processed becase it was submitted in June, i.e. day of application is important as well as the day of migri visit.

Btw starting from July migri started to provide average processing time from 6 months not 5. So, maybe for those who applied in July should wait 6 months these days.

I wrote to Migri for an explanation on why my application was taking long and I didn't get any response. If you are waiting for your decision and its taking longer , just know it will definitely come one day. Stay safe and be good. Merry Christmas to you all
I would make a complaint.

This is not what average means.
