Fingers crossed 🤞
I hope so. When I messaged them back in the time, they said that the processing of my application will take 29 months. That was before increasing the processing time. Despite that I came to Finland with a residence permit as a student, and now I am on a work residence permit which I got after my graduation, and I am not from country on the list. But what can I say 😭

Have you tried to point out to them that according to the calculator (https://migri.fi/kasittelyaikalaskuri) your estimated processing time should be 21 (23) months instead of 29 (30)?
It would be interesting to see their response whether they just mistakenly told you about 29 months or your application was assigned to that "longest" queue for some reson.

I did point out everything. Even I have sent them a screenshot from the processing time calculator. Then it came back with a response from the citizenship team telling that the estimate time to process my application is 29 months. Then they explained that there are different queues for the processing of the citizenship application, where it depends whether you come with a residence permit or not .. etc.
So it was really annoying that I was telling in the email that I came with residence permit and I have a national passport, so why do you say that I am in the longest queue. Then they replied with this nonsense response.

And there is no reason to assign my application to a longer queue. As mentioned, I came with a student residence permit then shifted to work permit after graduation.
Even I have consulted a lawyer and they have checked my application. However, he pointed out that there is nothing to do except to wait, otherwise, migri will give the same response. No one knows what’s the reason. Even my friends who have the same condition as me, and coming from the same country, some of them got it within the short queue and others are still waiting.

It is annoying how migri works to be honest.

Wow, that is weird.
I wonder whether it is single stupid mistake by them or it is intended thing which they try to apply to many applications to stretch the expected processing time as much as possible.

I don’t have any idea. And as said, the lawyer said it is very weird as well and they couldn’t understand why Migri does that. In addition, he mentioned that the legal window to get them explain anything is after they give decision on the application not before, or after they exceed the maximum processing time for citizenship applications in general, which is 30 months now. Otherwise, they will give the same response because we didn’t exceed the maximum processing time 😭
Migri’s life 😭😭
Let’s hope that everyone here gets their decision soon and I get mine soon as well. Then there won’t be a need to wait for 30 months 😅

Hi guys

It is interesting that in a new plan the deadline for processing all citizenship applications in maximum 1 year is going to be postponed to the year 2028. In previous documents, it was stated that the deadline must have been achieved in 2021, 2022 and 2023 (and it hasn’t been), but looking that it’s not possible to achieve that anymore, so they have postponed that to the year 2028.

Thanks for the best customer experience, Migri ❤️

Hi, sorry I did not fully understand what you mean. Does Migri want to postpone all citizenship applications in 2021, 2022 and 2023 to the year 2028?

Has anyone here applied first, and then had their spouse apply for the citizenship application? I want to know what the chances are of receiving the decision together in this case. Has anyone experienced this situation?

Hi ☺️

Sorry if I wrote it not super clear, it was super quick note 😂 But before that, they had an initial target to process ALL citizenship applications in 1 year. And this target wasn’t met in 2021, 2022 and 2023, so now they don’t have this target anymore for this year, so their new target is to process at least 65% of applications in 1 year this year, and then it will increase to 100% in 2028. So it means that while they were trying to meet this one-year processing target, they have failed to do so for many times, so the target has been postponed to 2028 🥲
