It's that time of the year to start a new thread for 2024. This forum is a great place to share information, so fire away!

Let's hope this is the last topic on this forum about waiting that you created!

What should someone needs to do, if she/he got a negative decision after a long waiting? re-apply or appeal or wait for certain time before re-apply again?

Joining the thread :)

Surprisingly, this week seemed quite productive for Migri.
My application moved for about 50 positions, while the week before it moved for only 5 positions.

i was surprised when i checked my queue this morning, it moved 35 for me, now i am officially in the 29xx. I am happy to have passed the 3xxx stage, as from my experience this is the least waiting group that gets decisions

you can appeal and btw from my readings appeals get a good positive response rate, but i will suggest an immigration lawyer. usually if you have a problem, they will tell you to resolve it and apply again, like someone had a case of taking a loan from kela, check the 2023 thread on page 75 (something like that). if you committed a crime that the court decision is higher than 30 fines days or 10 days in prison, you will get a waiting period with your decision, after which you can apply. if you commit a major crime, like a murder, then pretty much the finnish citizenship is your least concern now 😂

Any ideas what changes migri is planning for finnish language test end of 2024?

"The project investigates and prepares the necessary regulatory changes to the Citizenship Act. In addition, the project looks at demonstrating language skills and deviations from the language skills requirement, as well as making a permanent residence permit a condition for naturalization."

Apart from these, what can be other reasons for a negative decision by migri? I see thay reject (negative decision) 2-10% of applications per each country. Don't thinl all these people were in deby or commited a crime

What is your reason for a negative decision?

based on migri website 80 percent of the rejections are because people are applying too early or trying to exempt from the yki testi

Hi guys

How long have you been waiting? Do we have any good news from people who have applied in 2022? 😃

In any case, have an amazing New Year 🌲
