What you would need to do will very much depend on the reason for the rejection.Indian_Dude wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 12:17 pmWhat should someone needs to do, if she/he got a negative decision after a long waiting? re-apply or appeal or wait for certain time before re-apply again?
Applying for Citizenship 2024

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Next week it'll be 7 months for me. My queue number is 44xx. Hopefully what people say about the 4k-5k line is true and I'll get a decision soon. Would be nice to start 2024 with good news.
The wait haven't been that bad for me though. I applied for the citizenship and the permanent residence on the same week. After 4 months I got the permanent residence permit and that made me happy/relieved for some time. Only recently I started to wonder more about what's up with my citizenship application and how long will it take after all.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
About 3 weeks.
So, it's safe to assume that I'll be around for awhile
Even though I somehow went to stage 2 immediately after my service point visit
Two people who I know that applied in 2022: One 6 months and other 9 months.
One who I know that applied in 2023 waited 6 months.

Have you noticed slow progress after 4500 in queue?
Hopefully you will get the decision in January 2024.
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I have noticed slower progress in December, but maybe because of holidays like independence day and of course Christmas. But I'm almost in the 4300s so the queue still moved fairly enough.Guess.who wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 3:19 pmBr_fi wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:13 pmNext week it'll be 7 months for me. Today is first working day of the year 2024. Based on migri statistics, they are super active between January to June and process most of the pending applications.
Even mine is at 4900+ range and hopefully I will get the decision soon!

What stitistics are you referring to? Could you share a link?
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hopefully we will all get our decision in the first half of this year. for me the 21 month official processing time ends in july 2024, so let us hope that they will give me an answer before that. it has been super silent for my case, i just got an email in april to update my travels and never heard from them againGuess.who wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 12:09 pm

Hi
I don't want to ruin the optimism anyhow, but 21 months is not a deadline, because when I asked Migri in the end of May 2023 about my processing, they told me it is going to be 18 months, which is around February this year at the latest. However, when I asked the same question in November 2023, the time has risen to 20 months. Today it is around 21 months, but that is not something like a hard deadline, because it can be moved further again. Nevertheless, 17th month of waiting has started for me, so let's hope for the best

I checked the statistics and I wouldn't say that they are super active in the first half of the year.
Looking at graphs for 2022 and 2023 they seem to be more active in the second half of the year, but not really significantly. I would not expect faster speed from Migri, rather jast average speed.
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hi guys! I’m planning to travel within EU in the next few months, but I have a pending citizenship application (currently queue no 59xx).So I wanted to check if anyone knows what are the latest instructions for traveling while waiting for your decision?
The latest Migri article on travel doesn’t mention notifying Migri when going abroad: https://migri.fi/en/-/are-you-planning- ... e-finland-
It just says that you should consider how absence will affect your period of residence (and I’m not planning any long trips) and that they “cannot make a citizenship decision for you if you are abroad”.
However, I’ve been reading on this forum that it’s pretty important to notify Migri when traveling… Can someone share their experiences regarding this? Is traveling in the EU different from traveling outside of Schengen area?

Bro, in simple words, just attached one supplement with your traveling details that’s all they want to know.
