How about you?Underscore wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 5:46 pmHahahha, lucky you. I applied in the last week of March and queue number was 9042 and it’s been one month mow and queue stands at 9061 .ehab101 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 1:16 pmHi, Is it normal to have your queue numbers go down only about 100 numbers in a month (the first month) I applied mid March with queue number 89xx and after more than a month the queue number is 88xx. My diary number is in the 25xx/310/2024 range. Just looking to get any insight as to why has it been so slow or is it just the first month and so. Thanks
Can I ask what was your status in Finland and grounds for application?

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Is it stage 2 now or it’s stage 1 since October 2022 ?
If it is stage 1. have you tried to contact Migri and ask about what’s happening ? Because as far as I know typical period for an application to move from stage 1 to stage 2 is 6 months.
I think it’s totally unfair for migri to treat some applications in 6 months and leave other applications for 18 months. For me now I have been waiting for 6 months and I feel already that’s so long. I can imagine the situation where you have to wait 18 months. Migri should treat applicants equally.

Now it is not even 18, but whole 23 monthsjonathan_09 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 7:06 pmIs it stage 2 now or it’s stage 1 since October 2022 ?

Also, just for the sake of the “documenting” this, my 21th month of waiting has begun

That’s totally unfair from Migri.

Hey, Did you contact Migri or did they ask you for additional information ?jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:28 pmSure It moved to stage 2 actually on 23/04/2024.MCS wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:59 pmI think that it is normal/many cases are similar to yours, you do not need to panic. my application moved to stage 2 last Tuesday. I thought that I would receive the decision on the same day but still haven't received it yet. is this normal ?? my diary number is 133XX/310/2023.
what could they be investigating ? I'm from Egypt. I have been living in Finland for 7 years now. I have my job and I completed a degree here. is common that stage 2 could take a long time ?
I received the diary number at late of October 2023, and I haven't visited migri. enterfinland told me that I don't need to do so.
I have lived until now 4 years B. and 3 years A.

They haven’t asked me for any additional information and that’s the weird part here. It moved to stage 2 then it stayed.MCS wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 11:52 amHey, Did you contact Migri or did they ask you for additional information ?jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:28 pmSure It moved to stage 2 actually on 23/04/2024.MCS wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:59 pm

I haven’t contacted Migri yet. But I will contact them if nothing changes in four weeks.
I think they are waiting until I complete exactly the 5 year residency because if I count half B of my residency and full A. It’s actually around 4 years and 11 months.
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Not sure about that. It is enough that you have 4 years (after calculating based on B and A permit rules) if you have the language proficiency as per the current law.jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 12:26 pmThey haven’t asked me for any additional information and that’s the weird part here. The migri web pages are terrible the way they explain the length of residency needed.jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 12:26 pmI think they are waiting until I complete exactly the 5 year residency because if I count half B of my residency and full A. It’s actually around 4 years and 11 months.
One page says that everyone must have language skills and 5 years residency and another page says that if you have language skills the residency is only 4 years!! but the page earlier said that EVERYONE must have language skills, so where did the 5 years come from!!

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Migri started automatic decision on some Citizenship applications. Too bad it's only for applications submitted from today. No idea why they just wouldn't run the existing applications on that algorithm. Hopefully this means it will be quicker to get decision though as some would be under automatic processing already. https://migri.fi/en/implementation-deci ... itizenship

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Yep this is really confusing. I know friends who got their decisions while living 4 years.riku2 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 2:31 pmThe migri web pages are terrible the way they explain the length of residency needed.jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 12:26 pmI think they are waiting until I complete exactly the 5 year residency because if I count half B of my residency and full A. but my brother when he went to migri for identification to submit his citizenship application. the officer told him that it's impossible to get the decision in 4 years period of residence and they will wait until 5 years is passed. and that's what really happened. they waited until he completed the 5 years for the decision to come not sure if this is a coincidence or based on what the officer told him.
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
5 year and after law passes 8 year rule will apply to 65+ and who has the right to have an exception to the language skills requirement due to cognitive disorders etc.riku2 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 2:31 pmThe migri web pages are terrible the way they explain the length of residency needed.jonathan_09 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 12:26 pmI think they are waiting until I complete exactly the 5 year residency because if I count half B of my residency and full A.
