Hi all,
Just wondering - if a Finnish permanent resident (i.e. one holding the Pysyvä Oleskelulupa) is granted a EC Long Term Resident Permit, do the authorities intend to cancel the Finland-granted Pysyvä Oleskelulupa?
My understanding is that they are two separate permits and can be held simultaneously, i.e. one granting the status as a Finnish Permanent Resident and the other granting the EU Long Term Resident status. Any opinions?`
Thanks.
Cheers.

I think you "think" the officials "think"... I don't think they have thought all that over quite yet. What I expect is that they'll grant a regular residence permit about as automagically as to EU nationals eventually.
Cheers, Hank W.
