Karate Oulu

Post by p19 » Thu May 11, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi,
I'm form Czech Republic and in two-four years I want to move to Oulu.
Is there (in Oulu) some Kyokushin Karate Club (IKO1 best)?
I have found just one Kyokushin.fi and there is just one club in Helsinki! Is it possible? Just one club in whole Finland?

Or I have found Suomen Karateliito, but there isn't written which styles of Karate are in Oulu..

Is there also Wado-Ryu?

And does in Finland exist some BUDO Forum or something like that? Easily in finnish.

Thanx to everybody

As for Oulu, czech this out: http://www.oulunkarateseura.fi/

[email protected]

They should know in more detail... or maybe some Oulu habitants on this forum will tell you more!

... and a bit of sleuth-work resulted in this forum:

Kiitos!

But it's strange, that in Finland isn't a lot of Karate styles known to me from Czech, but I have already found a lot of Karate styles "used" in Finland which I have never heard about!

Hassu

PS: What do I need, when I want to found a new sport club (Karate Kyokushin)?

I'm no expert (my definition of the term 'chop' would most probably involve firewood or vegetables...) but I've also noticed that there is such a profusion of different kind of Budo sports... who knows? Depends maybe it who maybe master your be

NB I added a forum address to my previous post!

Thanks for forum!

Ok, I will contact them, but after I move to Oulu, and it's a long time yet!

But thanks.

PS: If is here some Karatist (or how it is sayd in English - and finnish????) from Oulu, it would be great, if he would write some references!
Thanx

Karateka - same as Japanese

Check http://www.karateliitto.fi/seurat/

I did Shotokan back home, but didn't find a Shotokan club in Helsinki, went to a Shotokai club a couple of times, but their training was too early in the day and not easy to get to, also I did not find them to be very welcoming.

When I moved from Helsinki I trained for one Summer at
http://www.porinshotokan.com/
this is a very friendly club, unfortunately I came off my bike and was unable to train for a year and since then work commitments have made it impractical... I must get back into it, but I need to relearn all my kata first!
