Locate the finnish girl friend after 38 years

Post by finfriend » Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:02 pm

Yes, it may sound strange, but romantic from my point of view.
I am seeking help from people in Finland to contact a girl friend that I knew in London some 38 years ago.
Realising that in the meantime lot of things could have happened including marriage, I do not wish to cause any embarsement to her,
but I am interested how she is doing now. Of course I wish her best.
My search on Google gave a long list of people. I guess she has a popular name.
Last known address of some 34 years ago is Tapiola.
I would appreciate help from fine people from Finland
Surely it should not be hard to locate a person from a population of some
five million people.

Thanks

oh one of my favorite questions.

Hold on I'll just shout out of my window

"Did anyone know a guy from London 38 years ago!!!"

I'll let you know if there's any feedback,By the way I met this woman in London 20 years ago, London's only got a population of 5 million so maybe we could help each other out. She wasn't very attractive, actually she look inbred, so not intelligent either, but she had a nice wave and she wore a hat that sparkled. I'd love to meet her again.

well, if you know the name and address you only need to call the population registry's address service, unless shes unlisted then you can do tracking quite easily.

If you are ready to throw a few bucks at the problem, then a PI might be willing to help.

Um, it was 12 million at last count. Manchester is 5 million.

I found my now girlfriend, someone i hadn't seen for 9 years by entering their name into the adress/phone number finder service on my mobile phone. It threw back about 10 results of the same name and i just sent a sms to all of them. Now some 2 years later we just bought a house together:)

Good luck, I hope you find her!

'Um, it was 12 million at last count'

Not surprised it's increased to 12 million judging the female population of London by the woman I met .

You can check addresses etc. through the Address Service of the Population Register Centre: http://www.vaestorekisterikeskus.fi/en/addressservice

Thanks for the advise, it worked. I have been able to find her address,
but not the telephone number or e-mail address. I would welcome suggestions
for faster way to contact her by finding telepone number in Esso/Tapiola or e-mail address other than writing directly to her.
Thanks

Call 118 (not 112) or 020202 or other such number service. Tell them her name and address and they will give you her number if it's not secret. Oh, and this works only if you reside in Finland. If you are still in Texas, you can PM her name and address somebody here, so they can check it.

There's also this service: http://www.numeronetti.fi but it requires a contract to be used. Not a free one.

Why would you need the telephone number of Esso Tapiola (a gas station)? Esso = ExxonMobil... I'm afraid there's no comprehensive directory of email addresses in Finland.

PM the name and address, I can find out the telephone number (if it is listed).

Also http://www.eniro.fi/ -> Henkilöt
is an online white page directory, but requires a Finnish mobile phone subscription before you can register as a user.

Here's the contact information of Esso Tapiola:
Esso Snack & Shop Tapiola, Espoo: Tel. +358 9 455 4055
address: Kalevalantie 3, 02130 Espoo, Finland.

Maybe because it was a typo for ESPOO Tapiola? 8)
(I wonder whether there is anybody officially registered as living in a gas station)

She's in there somwhere, quite close!

Still makes me smile that you want a "faster way of contacting her" than conventional mail, after you have been 38 years apart. :D
