Speaking Finnish

Post by Ian Lemke » Tue Dec 14, 2004 5:36 pm

Hey, I just joined Finland Forum because I picked up Finnish just in September but I know very few Finns. I can't go to finland or anything cause im way too young but It would be nice to practise it by speaking to people. (even online would help) So if anyone else is learning or just wants to chat in Finnish, im up for all the practise I can get.
Kiitos Aikastasi ja nakemiiin

You could grab an IRC client and find some Finnish channel in a topic you're interested in. Great way to learn colloquial speech.

Go to http://www.jippii.fi/jsp/chat/index.jsp.
There you can chat with Finnish people. But not all want to speak english, in case you don't know a word or something :P. But it is funny to practise your finnish, and you can see slangwords that are used by the most finns.

Yes - life here is like an X rated movie. Wise choice.

Oh to be young and be able to "just pick up Finnish" and not even do it for love.

Is there not much to do in Calgary, in which case I shall move there in a bid to improve my Finnish!

Well done anyway.
