After watching couple of PS games I have hard time getting fired up. As usual. And as I don't follow the off season, I don't know jack !"#¤% about promising rookies nor retirements. So if anyone has tips to who or which teams to keep eye on...
I will be certainly following: Colts, Pats, Packers and most likely Broncos. Is there any other teams that I should check out? After watching Bears' first preseason game and realizing that Urlacher is out, I won't be following them.
NFL 2013
Re: NFL 2013
I always hear the Falcons will do well. But I'm like you and don't pay any attention in the off-season, just going off what I hear from my friends (Atlanta fans...).
As long as there are young men with the light of adventure in their eyes or a touch of wildness in their souls, rapids will be run.

I don't like Matt Ryan. But at some point I didn't like Tom Brady either so maybe I should check a game or two.rider1000 wrote:I always hear the Falcons will do well. But I'm like you and don't pay any attention in the off-season, just going off what I hear from my friends (Atlanta fans...).

Screw the Falcons, Buffalo Bills looked nice against Colts.

True enough! It'll be interesting to see what goes down this week. Some teams lost that I would not have expected... maybe they're sandbagging in the pre-season?
Or maybe they are just not good this year.

Re: NFL 2013
For me the preseason is not so much win or lose, and that shows as I usually don't bother to watch last few minutes, but more about the rookies. I won't expect to see Mannings, Brady or any veteran to play more than drive or two.rider1000 wrote:True enough! It'll be interesting to see what goes down this week. And as I don't keep up what happens... I had to google where the Patriot's top TEs are, I'm actually quite curious how Pats will play without Gronk and Hernandes.

Re: NFL 2013
I'm stuck in the boonies for the next 2 weeks with SLOW interwebs. So I'll miss any live coverage of the pre-season. I get stuck with text updates and reading about it afterwards. But, I'll be back in lands of high-speed in time for week 1!
You think RG3 can keep going this year?

I don't watch live, I prefer to get the games in about 2h long chunks without ads. And I hate tickers and other spoilers.rider1000 wrote:I'm stuck in the boonies for the next 2 weeks with SLOW interwebs. So I'll miss any live coverage of the pre-season. Name rang some bells, but I had to google who he was. Then I wondered why I didn't follow Washington last season. Wikipedia made it quite clear to me: "my relationship with God was my most important influence... I praise God, I thank him for everything. Purposefully, you live every day for Him, and when He gives you the opportunity to speak up for Him or to do something in His name, you do it."rider1000 wrote:You think RG3 can keep going this year?
Nutjob.
As for his chances to be as good as he was last season... Depends if he gets all clear to play before the season starts. And even then it might take game or two to see what his, and team's, form really is.

Haha, we won't turn this into a religious debate but I don't have a problem with statements like that. Anyway...Upphew wrote:Name rang some bells, but I had to google who he was. If he recovers from his knee surgery well, I think it could still take a few weeks for him to be back at the level he was before.
Regardless, I'm still going to keep an eye on the Falcons and hope they do well. Because the Titans haven't been good since 2000 and I need a "home" team to cheer for. (I grew up smack-dab between Nashville and Atlanta).
On a related note, I just discovered this week that there is an American Football league in Finland. Strange

Re: NFL 2013
I haven't followed Titans much and after Vince Young left I really don't know anybody in that team, except Fokou. They did have good RB(s?) during the time Young played?rider1000 wrote:If he recovers from his knee surgery well, I think it could still take a few weeks for him to be back at the level he was before.

Not so much strange than embarrassing, to watch that is.rider1000 wrote:On a related note, I just discovered this week that there is an American Football league in Finland. Strange

Ya, they had Eddie George during the Steve McNair era. That was when they actually did well in the playoffs. They had Chris Brown and then Travis Henry during the Vince Young era. Those were better days!
I saw some pictures posted online. Looks like High School football from the States.Upphew wrote:Not so much strange than embarrassing, to watch that is.rider1000 wrote:On a related note, I just discovered this week that there is an American Football league in Finland. Strange

Any ideas on the best way to watch college football?
