Re: Citizenship Applications 2016
Really? After 2 weeks how it was opened, I've asked them through the site does they need any additional information. But no answer. How should I contact Migri? Phone, mail, go there?MKV wrote:Hello - already some people who applied in May, have received their decision. You may want to check with Migri.gorkos wrote:Still waiting. Hello People!
1. As you can prove your language skills in a number of ways as provided in the links:
Source: http://www.migri.fi/finnish_citizenship ... age_skills
(a) Language proficiency certificates (YKI)
(b) Basic education certificates
(c) Upper secondary school certificates
(d) Vocational qualification certificates (Like, OMNIA, SEDU, or other ammatiopisto)
(e) Certificates issued for higher education in Finland (a certificate of approval of a maturity test in Finnish or Swedish)
Is there anyone who has applied for citizenship in 2016 (from February, March or April) using other language requirement(s) other than YKI and they have got their decision.
2. Please do update this thread with you application experience - whether you call the MIGRI office when the time specified (8 - 9 months) has expired or not.
Thanks.

suhokim wrote:Thank you. However, the migri info is about the eligibility of the citizenship application aka before applying, but my concern is whether or not I can leave Finland after I apply and before I get the result. I think I will have to call...mois_2012 wrote:It is usually required 5 years ["for the last five years without interruption (continuous period of residence)"] of continuous permit (combination of equivalent A and A permit) for other people without strong ties with Finland.
http://www.migri.fi/finnish_citizenship ... nce_period
As you had total of 2 years B permit, it will be counted as 1 year of equivalent A permit (continuous permit). Therefore, you will need another (at least) 3 years of A permit which will make 4 years of equivalent of A permit and you are then eligible to apply if you have passed the language test as you have a Finnish partner.
So, I think, you are only eligible to apply after August 2016.
Anyways, here you can find some information regarding how many months you can stay outside of Finland without problem.
