Hei, do you think she can take away our child’s custody from me even if I ddnt do anything bad and I pay her child support and also if I take the child with me on weekends?
As I said, if it is an acrimonious separation, then truth and moral behaviour may sometimes not be visible.

Re: Delay in kela application

Without a kela card, we will have to go to private hospitals and we cannot afford that right now. The public system will not refuse anyone for urgent care and there is no prepayment required. The municipality of residence in the population system should be backdated at least to the date of applicat...

Re: Need some advice

True to a degree. However, i.e. once you move out/ separate, if the separation was acrimonious, then you might find that complaints of unsuitability against you, and application for sole custody. Not to scare you, but this is based on what I have generally heard over the years. This might then affec...

Re: children Rp

Some things are a bit unclear in your post. But from what I know (and I'll admit I am not a 100% sure of this): I am a father of child from Finnish women without married, As per law, as far as I know, if the child is born while the mother is married to another, the child is automatically assumed to ...

Would they deporte me if I divorce my wife since my residence permit is based on family tie?????? I'm really worried about this! plant your seed on her bush for life? Horrible idea! Fully agree. Really sad, and dislike the idea. Please think of the child and their lives and their interests.

Re: Any Tips for Moving to Finland?

This whole topic should not have been that complicated! Nigeria is not a party to the Hague convention, and it was you who stated that a Finnish court upheld that a marriage in Nigeria is recognized in Finland. FinlandGirl is right in her posts. The list of HCCH countries is listed here . OP married...

You can never deduct a loss from your tax payment. You can only deduct a loss from your profits. Hiring a leasing agency etc. is a business cost and can be deducted. Google Vähennyskelpoisia hankintamenot. When you state things, please give a referral to the basis. Even a google reference would do.

Re: Rental Agreement - Signed, deposit still unpaid, not really moving in, What are my options?

Usually the first time you can give notice is after 12 months. What is this based on please? Is there a piece of legislation or norm that I could refer to? One option is to ask your employer for a loan that will be paid back from your salary. Do also check for a rental guarantee with your employer,...

You are liable to compensate the landlord for the lost rent and costs associated with finding someone else. As I recall, only to the extent of the notice period. I.e. if you had a two months notice, then those two months. I am not sure of this, but the tenant is not liable to help the landlord seek...

Re: IT offer evaluation

6k were after taxes and social security, which would be a normal amount for IT consulting in Finland. 6k before taxes would be 40 Euro per hour, for specialized IT consulting such a low rate would be exploitation. I am not sure if "netting" in the OPs post was correct. In my mind, if we take ~100e/...

Which central eu country? I find Poland to be a lot more exciting and culturally richer than Finland. If I was saving 2,000 eur per month there, I would hesitate to move. Correct. Finland is generally easier to become a citizen of compared to other EU countries including the eastern bloc...

Re: IT offer evaluation

move to Helsinki as an IT professional and could be netting around €6000 in a specialized niche field as a contractor. That's just about right. If you are as a contractor, you will need your own company or work through a provider. Remember, you will have to pay off all your tax obligations, insuran...

Re: Fireplace with ... handles?

We've had a similar problem, we don't know which way the flap opens, i.e. is it now open OR closed!!! No idea how to solve that. I tried going with a camera... but the soot and all it is so dark, I could not figure it out. Weird that even the chimney sweep couldn't offer any help. Not too sure.

Re: Bus passenger badly injured inside the bus

Assuming that this is within the capital region, you could contact HSL. If the incident was serious enough to warrant an ambulance and the need to stop the bus, then surely the driver would have filed a report as well. You could try and contact HSL on this, and see the response you get. To answer th...
