No one even checked my dog either, but if you are getting a pet passport for the first time then you have to wait for 30 days until after the rabies jab for the blood test to check that there are enough antibodies - if not, another shot and another 30 days wait - only then will they issue the ...

Here's my advice: Let him do his own dirty work! Why should you be left to pack up his things and organise shipping after what he has done to you?!

I am driving on my uk license at the moment - it doesn't expire for another 2 years, so I see no point in paying 40 euros for a Finnish one. At the police station, they said that was fine, but of course will have to pay to renew it when it expires.

Thank you for your welcome! That is Plymouth, Devon, England, although I made a point of visiting the US namesake whilst I was there a couple of years ago, and considering the fuss that Plymouthians make about the Pilgrim Fathers, I was a little disappointed in what I found the other end! Mind you ...

Just arrived!

Just wanted to post a quick message in between trying to unpack boxes and settle in, to thank you all so much for your valuable advice, not to mention wit and humour (?!)!!! Arrived in Vaasa last Friday, and loving it! I am more of a 'lurker' than a 'poster', but must try harder in future! Anyway ...

Thanks Neil - that's great! Now I have several leads to chase, and with any luck, not an empty bank account at the end of it! Just found out that several vessels do relatively regular runs from here in Plymouth to Oulu and Rauma, so I might try to pull in a few favours from my shipping agent buddies ...

Peter, you are absolutely right! Plymouth is a pain in the a*se! HOWEVER, I have just had another idea from Peter's prompt - I work in the maritime industry, and I know there are several vessels sailing out of Plymouth to Oulu for the china clay/paper run, so perhaps I could contact the owners ...

Iain - great tip - thanks! Which company did you use? And perhaps more importantly, how much did they charge??? Just got some outrageous quotes from UK companies...!

Shipping experiences...

...ok, so this isn't a new topic, but reading through all the other posts hasn't really given me a warm glowy feeling about shipping all my stuff to Vaasa!! Actually, it is a relatively small amount, but I would really appreciate hearing other peoples experiences/methods. Furniture wise, I will have ...
