Re: Canadian LF Work

I will look into this Mr Todd Proctor, although the name itself sounds out of a Rob Zombie movie hehe.. but I'll check it out.

You certainly saw this already : http://www.cc-communication.fi/eng/employment.htm

Re: Canadian LF Work

Perhaps you could work for Mr Todd Proctor, the manager of C.C Communication Oy :

Did the op say that she was a qualified English teacher? I missed that.

No, I am not. I have never taken any courses on teaching or anything whatsoever. I have not taken courses on cooking, but I did work in ...

Re: Canadian LF Work

Thank you.

I registered and checked with the OpTeam, nothing as of yet. I volunteer regularly with Turku2011, and the Green Party (they have my info and all but haven't assigned me to anything yet). I'll check out Estelle.

My Finnish language is not top notch, still needs a lot of work. I live in Turku, I have a 4-year residency permit.
Currently looking for a job, no preferences but I would like to work in the culinary industry.

Does anyone know of a place where I could start? I guess I am a bit afraid to make ...

Re: Good Chinese/Cantonese Food in Turku

Today I went to Kiinan Muuri, aka Great Wall of China.
I would have to say I finally found my Chinese restaurant in Turku.
The food was great, the service very friendly and very good.
Price was great as well. I was very pleased with it overall, and
not to mention that the lemon chicken was made the ...

Re: Good Chinese/Cantonese Food in Turku

I KNEW it was John Malkovich!! I told my husband and he said 'No, that's not him.. pfft!'

He said he'd been to the medieval market on Sunday about noonish. I heard today from a colleague that John and a few of his cast mates had been to the Old Bank after the last show last night.

You're ...

Re: Good Chinese/Cantonese Food in Turku

After going to see John Malcovitch perform live in "The Infernal Comedy: Confessions of a Serial Killer" yesterday, we popped in to a new restaurant at Kauppiaskatu 1B1..think it is just called Thai Chinese Restaurant. Brand new place. Was not too bad. We ordered one Thai curry and one Chinese beef ...

Re: Good Chinese/Cantonese Food in Turku

Well, that dish at New China Town near Kauppatori in Turku cost me 12 euros.
My husband and I ended up paying 22 euros in total, and it was utter crap.
We tried so hard to communicate with the person that the dish in fact was NOT
lemon chicken. He 1) did not speak Finnish, 2) did not speak English ...

Good Chinese/Cantonese Food in Turku

Emphasis on good.

I have had horrific experiences at two 'restaurants' in Turku.
New China Town around kauppatori, and another restaurant
that is near puutori - I forget its name because I probably
meant to forget it.

Where I come from, we have a China Town. Authentic Chinese food.
Mandarin ...

Re: Owning a dog in Finland

By 'adopting' I meant that there is a shelter in Turku, and some pups and dogs - as well as cats and kittens - need homes.
I know it is hard to do what it takes for a rescued dog or cat, patience is very important.

I was only suggesting that he could look into some of the local shelters here in ...

Re: A word of thanks:)

Awesome! Was it in Aurora or Newmarket area?
I know there's quite a lot of Finns up there, and East of Yonge along Eglinton and so.
Milbree Viking Deli is around that area. Only place in Toronto where you can get
some Finnish mustard, sadly, it was Turun Sinappi, not Auran :P
But they have karelian ...
