I've seen rumor that you can apply for the extension at ANY police station. You could always call a smaller town and see if they'd take you...

Re: How to help someone with an eating disorder?
The best ideas about how you and others can be helpful to her might come from a stint in a residential program. Is it highly recommended by past residents and their families? Right... She has been seeing a psychiatrist for almost a year now. But we feel like she needs a residential program. So coul...

How to help someone with an eating disorder?
Hey, My sister-in-law is struggling with an eating disorder. We've tried a few different way to help her, but none have really worked yet. Does anyone have any advice from experience? We know of 1 residential program in Finland that we have considered sending her to, and she might be headed there so...

I think my wife pays €40 for 3 months... That's MUCH cheaper than the alternative.

If you're still looking, check out this Facebook page. Evidently they sell used bikes in the Turku Student Village. Maybe you could arrange with them to deliver a bike you buy from them.

YLE News in EASY Finnish!
YLE News in Easy Finnish Some of the days news read slowly in "easy" FINNISH and with the text so you can follow along! This site hasn't been mentioned in a while on the forum (6 years by my reckoning with a search). And it's not listed in any of the stickies I looked in... maybe it could...

Re: How much time does it (normally) takes to get visa and..
Glad you got an appointment figured out! That's the first step in the right direction. 1. As far as I understand it, you are supposed to apply in the Police Station of your city/province. (Or something like that...) Not sure if this is 100% true or not. 2.Probably not, but again not 100% sure. 3. Th...

Beg and plead? You need that appointment to be before you are illegal. Do whatever it takes to get it.
On the form, I have no idea if it will help or not. I haven't used it...

Re: How much time does it (normally) takes to get visa and..
BTW, I would be applying for employment visa and this time i should get 4 years one because i have been employed in the same company for last one year and its permanent job This is assuming you have a current, valid, 1 year RP on a work basis and just called it a visa by mistake... You NEED to chan...

Re: Winter Cycling
I can vouch for those Biltema tires. Used them all last winter without a problem. I had better grip on ice than I did in the soft snow. Haven't found any cycling gear websites in Finland, so if someone knows of any they could kindly add them, please! I've used these 2 UK websites for stuff in the pa...

Ya, in the USA your license is normally only valid for 5 years. So the photo is updated fairly regularly.

Re: Exchanging US drivers licence for Finnish one
Well, I don't know if you are just being thick, but Drivers licenseand ID are two different things. Totally, utterly separate things from different bureaus. The valid government-issued ID card in Finland has the biometrics and such. A bonus is, that for citizens it allows one to travel within the S...
