Re: Any Halloween events for kids in Helsinki?

Hello, I'm aware Halloween isn't really celebrated in Finland but my kids are usually in UK at this time of year (where it's trick-or-treating all the way) so we're keen to do *something* - if anyone knows of any child-friendly events going on in the evening of the 31st at all?

This is a car that is to be restored. Anyone with experience of car shipping?

Not 100% sure, but I think it needs to be drivable so they can drive it on and off.

There is a large Red Cross warehouse store in Espoo that sells furniture, it's on the other side of the motorway from Ikea.

Re: Permanent Residency in Finland for British citizens

I also have an Oleskelulupa (Residence Permit) card issued on 10.9.2001 but it expired on 9.9.2006. I still carry it around with me as I never received any replacement (and don't remember filling in any forms). It does have a photo and a Client No. It doesn't say anything about "permanent ...

Re: Permanent Residency in Finland for British citizens

I wondered that too. I've been here since 2001. But I don't think the "card" is automatic.
Is there a place where you can find out if you already have / still have permanent residency or not? (without queuing)

Due to EU law the permanent residence comes out of the sheer fact that you fill the ...

Re: Permanent Residency in Finland for British citizens

Hi,

I am British and have lived in Finland for over 20years and in 2005 was issued with a Permanent Residence Permit Card so where do I stand?

Same year as I received my Oleskelulupa card.

My understanding is that we have the equivalent in Finland of what the UK is offering the EU http://www ...

Re: Permanent Residency in Finland for British citizens

At the Brexit "Town Hall Meeting" (in the crypt of the cathedral in Helsinki) a couple of months ago, the ambassador kept saying that if we (Brits) have been resident in Finland for more than five years, we can make an application for permanent residency.

When I looked on Migri, I only found this ...

I can't believe you can be forced to start a company in Finland. You need professional advice, but before that there is some info here abt avoiding double taxation, which I think will be your main task

Seem to be mainly from Tesco finest* range

Then they've failed in their market analysis. Looking at the shoit most Finns buy (Rainbow et al), they would have been better off shipping in their Value range.

Re: Tesco tea & crisps in S-Market / Prisma

Nobody it seems, the cheese section looked untouched today.

Salt and vinegar crisps on the other hand were all gone and there was a single lonely looking bag of the steak flavoured crisps left. Flapjack cookies were similalrly wiped out.

The shortbread is rather good.
