Re: Could really use some visa advice/help

The only extra info we got back then (several years ago), was that it's not very high in their priority list, as those cases of just intimate relationship can be hard to prove commitmentwise I guess, and they always like to get their hard proof, on paper, for everything. I'd imagine they feel it ca...

Re: Financial statement with zero income

You could just look online for local (or not local) bookkeepers and agencies that provide for those services, and contact them. I'm sure many of them will do that, but shop around for one, their rates vary. It might cost you, but still worth it, to get an official record if you need one. You can als...

Re: find friends

What he said above ^.

Also... 'less than 10 days' is a very, very short time to evaluate how easy it is to make friends, in most countries.
Whenever I've been living abroad, I wouldn't have even thought of making friends that soon, busy doing other stuff, but that's just my perspective.

Re: Cheating by Facebook sale

Yep, this how you learn this lesson the hard way. You're pretty much screwed, and just lost 100 eur in that, as the seller refuses to admit any wrongdoing. Also, you're generally required to (and should!) check the product right away when it was delivered and you received it. This applies to package...

Re: Financial statement with zero income

He started the business & registered it already last year but hasn't returned his taxation forms back to verohallinto or vero.fi yet?? Has he not received any forms/tax filing forms from Verohallinto in mail? He should have. At least this is how it works for a Finnish entrepreneur (even for the ...

Re: Small business in Finland

Before you even start thinking about how much you have to pay for the employee, best to start with the basics of what starting a business in Finland entails. And also read through the other links provided on this forum. Here are a few good nutshell versions to begin with (+ further links on these pa...

Re: Another speeding/ fine question/ Unmarked car

Hmm, I can only imagine how many people regularly driving on that road would go totally mental if they didn't have those speed increases/speed limit returning to 80 or 100 on those stretches between the construction sites/otherwise 60 limit areas. They'd be complaining about the unnecessary speed de...

Re: RP approved in THREE WEEKS?

Well, I don't know what the basis for the RP you mentioned is, but some get their RPs very quickly, like students. My now-husband got his first RP in 2 weeks. Two. I kid you not. This was some 4 years ago, though. He got that based on the Working Holiday agreement, so perhaps they handle those as qu...

Re: Specialized diet in Finland?

Replying a bit late but well, in case the OP still reads this or someone else might, anyway. As a Finn myself, I can also confirm the general idea that pork actually is a very common and liked meat here. I don't personally like it, but it is one of the favourites among a lot of Finns because it is c...

Re: A Little Help

Shameless double posting because the timing was so great. An article relevant to what was mentioned above about the cost of medical care and hospital stays. Here's a link to a piece of news from yesterday (quite frankly though, this should be no news to Finns who have spent any time at the hospital ...

Re: Any good internet forums used by Finnish people

Hi there A lot of magazines, associations, groups, sports, hobbies, vocations/jobs, diseases etc. have dedicated forums for them. The easiest way to find them is just to search for your preferred topic + keskustelu or keskustelupalsta. Usually a lot of these specialized forums are not easily found i...

Hi there, did you manage to find anythign interesting to apply to yet? I just got back to the forum after a break, so this reply is a few months late. But in case you're still checking this thread - and whomever else hasn't noticed these additional application possibilities, here are a few links wor...
