Re: Best classes for Nurses needing Finnish

There are some nice online Finnish decks from NLRC for aspiring nurses on the Anki site.

Although I am no nurse, I am using these to improve my Finnish.

Beowulf was written around 700 AD in Old English.
Chaucer wrote around 1400 AD in Middle English.
If you think that Chaucer wrote Beowulf, you have serious problems.

I was only referring to the phrasing of the name in English - particularly the use of the word 'Excellence' They would have had better luck throwing darts at a dictionary! Googling "Centre of Excellence" returns 62,800,000 results. Languages do evolve. Very few of us still speak like Chau...

I assume that Russia's well known world class abilities in hybrid warfare are the reasons for it being situated in Finland. Russia's ongoing attack on Ukraine is a superb example of hybrid warfare In addition, some of ISIS's attacks in Syria and Iraq used hybrid techniques to excellent effect The mo...

Re: A cautionary tale - part 2

As I tried to communicate the payment split for a joint mortgage can be anything between 0 and 100. It was my understanding that the goal was for biscayne to own 50%. Whether this is the case remains to be seen. Good advice. The original poster should talk to a lawyer, if he/she has not already don...

Re: Residence permit for self employed person difficulties

You could buy a residence permit in Malta, Cyprus or Greece fairly cheaply ( around 300,000 Euros ) under their investor programmes.
This should, in theory at least, enable you, as a resident of the EEA zone to be able to reside and work in Finland.

As another poster said, a long serious illness ( with adequate documentation ) may be a sufficient explanation. This ( at least in the country I live in. I have zilch/zero/nada knowledge of Finland. ) can be a non-organic. If for instance, you have had clinical depression or have had an anxiety diso...
