Hi
Must have been on the lucky batch.
I received my positive decision on May 19th, 2020 and my card arrived by posti on May 29th, 2020, ==> less than the "normal" 3 weeks.
Any updates on your card bud?

Re: Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
You do lose the right to enter other Schengen and EU countries you had under the old permit until you get the extension. Indeed, true as a general rule. One exception is if the applicant is citizen of a country which allows him/her to enter all EU countries without a visa for 90 days. Then they mig...

Re: Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
@mkarshiev So far, my application is still at the 'Waiting for processing' stage, and at this point it has been more than 2 months and 2 weeks. So I contacted Migri last week to inquire about why it's long and the processing time checker indicates an average of 1 month and a maximum of 2 months for ...

Re: Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
Hi Rick, Thanks for the reply. I do have one question though : what is that "operation transfer between poliisi and migri" that you refer to? I'm currently back home in Canada (previously planned trip here to visit parents ) and got stuck with the covid situation. It's pretty tough with wi...

Re: Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
As of today, it's been 1 month and 9 days of processing time for my extended rp based on family ties, when migri processing times for these kind of applications is usually a month. My current one expires in first week of May so I'm not worried yet about expiration of status. I think there are delays...

Re: Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
Thanks for the update.
good thing I applied with still 3 months of validity on my current RP. At least, if it takes longer than one month, then I am not at immediate risk.

Extended Residency Permit Application 2020- Family ties
Hi Folks, Just wondering if others on this trend have recently applied for Extended RP based on family ties and wouldn't mind sharing it. I did the service point visit on February 19th, so technically it should be decided in 7 days, on March 19th. Is the one month processing time pretty accurate ? F...

Re: Transferring Money to Finnish Bank Account from US
So far, the rates have been awesome (in my personal opinion) , but I guess it all depends on the amount transferred. In my personal case, between my Canadian bank and Nordea, my range is 300 - 900 can$ (200 - 650 euroa) per transaction , and the fee has been 2.99 can$ (2.08€), per transaction, which...

Re: Transferring Money to Finnish Bank Account from US
I personally use the app Xoom, which is property of PayPal, to transfer between my Canadian and finnish accounts . For everything below 1000, it is completely free and for anything less than 1000$, the fees are 2.99can$, which is very acceptable. The only inconvenient is that it takes 1 day to depos...

Re: applying for work permit while on appeal
From reading through these blog pages, seems like many people were able to apply on a different permit category while being on appeal on their original category. But they first waited for their negative decision to be served. So here is what I would do if I were in your shoes: Step 1: - wait for the...
