Re: Applying to Unemployment office

My permit isn't based on my employer, it is a job-specific one tho. I can only work on that field and nothing else. Could it be still canceled because of this? I really need this answered. I have the Type A visa.

Re: Applying to Unemployment office

Hello, My visa got approved a few weeks ago, its type A and my card is still being manufactured or in the post. I got my work visa because of work but the company I was going to work for fired me before I even started to work. I have a contact. They didn't give me any reasons, handwritten warnings ...

Re: I was forced to work illegally

Now I rethink it, there might be more problems. € 3,50/hr for a 36 hour week is to low to reach the threshold for a residence permit. https://migri.fi/en/working-in-finland/income-requirement If your ex-employer filled in the real amount, the application will be denied. If he filled in a much higher...

Re: I was forced to work illegally

If the conditions for your residence permit change, it can be revoked. So drawing attention to the situation will surely result in a negative decision. But keeping quiet is no guarantee for success. Since your ex-employer applied for you it is possible they will be contacted again. And then it is ov...

Re: Moving With Car - Infiniti - Will I get good service?

Hi, We are considering moving our Car from Dubai to Finland. Model: Infiniti Q50. I understand that there are Import Formalities, Taxes, Re-Registration cost as well as a few modifications, such as - Headlamps, Winter Tyres, Block Heaters etc. My Question is - Is it a Good Idea to bring an Infiniti...

Re: EU registration income requirement

There is no such requirement for Finnish or EU citizens. More accurately EU forbids setting clear limits. Every case must be evaluated individually. With the Brexit looming it is wise to consider the non-EU requirements. https://migri.fi/en/income-requirement-for-family-members-of-a-person-who-has-...

Re: Scary! What's going on with Emergency services?

Summer of 2017, 6900 calls per day. Summer of 2018 12200 calls per day.
Now my question is; "Has the number of incidents doubled, or is the threshold to call for help lowered significantly?"
If it is the later, it is no wonder the 112 operators starts treating calls with less urgency.

Re: Is it legal to bake cakes at home for the purpose of selling?

Any serious business would need to be certified as a commercial kitchen. If you bake a couple and sell them, it's ok at least in Helsinki. Baking for a seasonal market or summer BBQ (few times per year) is very common. But when you become a regular at the weekly market, better have all your profess...

Re: Cost to fix a tumble dryer

Expect at least €100,- for coming and having a look and at least €150,- for a small repair. If you're unlucky the whole repair might cost more than a new machine.

Re: Could really use some visa advice/help

I would like to go there as soon as possible to be with my partner.
Don't concentrate on speed. If you use the wrong arguments/reason a rejection is quite possible. And that rejection might hamper the next (correct) application.
Just make sure you fulfil all the requirements before you apply.

Re: Single custody / Legal discrimination of Finnish officials

What I get from your story is that you did all the right things and that you are cooperative for finding a solution. But the father is sabotaging it and child services is not intervening. The last is strange since they normally will look primary to the interest of the child. Try to analyse the situa...

Re: Extended resident permit on special expert ground

What can be the reason for this huge delay? RP for study gets priority during this period. Is there any way it can get speed up? No Can visiting Migri office makes any difference? Not likely since you can continue with what you're doing while the application is processed there is no need to interru...

Be aware that you also buy all the hidden problems (claims, debts, ...)
Also the company has some goodwill and client lists. They should be part of the deal. But if the owner has planed a closure, he might have sold them already.
