Chocolates and candies in Finland

Post by puririn_ » Sat May 20, 2017 7:44 pm

I've tried some Finnish chocolates and I think it's really good, especially for Geisha. I'm curious with another chocolates and candies, if you have any recommendations for another one, let me know :D

A bit hard to say, I love chocolate, but don't eat it much here - it's not to my taste. Personally I don't like praline of any kind, Geisha is a revolting nut mush, I wouldn't eat it if you paid me.

Here's a list of Fazer's chocolates

Fazer blue is passable, I prefer the red one, light milk chocolate as it's a bit sweeter and creamier.

Orange flavoured Fazerina is decent too,

From Fazer's travel series - I don't know how they can associate the Salty Toffee one with the UK. I've never seen that flavour in the UK. The mint crisp one that they associate with Brazil is far more typical of what you'd find in the UK. Fazer's large bars could really do with a mint crisp... there is Marabou's mint krokant available in Finland, but it's Swedish http://www.suklaayhdistys.com/arviot.ph ... =2&tuote=2

I'm a sucker for chocolate-orange or chocolate-mint, so Dammenberg's orange buttons are the best Finnish brand for me.

PS don't bother with either Brunberg or Panda chocolate, they are both nasty IMO.

I can only recommend Brunberg chocolates. Especially the chocolate mints. But they are hard to find in Helsinki, only one shop has them, and they are rarely as good and fresh as in the factory outlet in Porvoo. Go visit Porvoo!
