Finnish silver ring found - need help

Post by logopezi » Sat Nov 11, 2017 2:29 pm

Hallo from Austria!

Some time ago, I found a silver signet ring with a hand holding a hammer and a crowned lion head facing left (the finnish coat of arms) with my metal detector. Inside the ring band I read: "INVALIIDIEN HYVÄKSY"

Could anybody please cast a light on this find? Could this ring be some kind of memento given to a member, promotor or donator by some Finnish organisation supporting handicapped people or the like?

Thanks for any help,
Peter

It's a military disabled war veterans ring circa 1942

try googling: Sotilaspojan sormus Invalidien Hyväksi Hopea

I just googled, I don't really know anything about them. But I'm sure there are people on here who can tell you more.

Thank you, Rosamunda, yes, this is it.
Would be interesting to know how it ended up in an Austrian lake... but I´ll never know.

Thanks anyway,
Peter
