Quality is best

Small, quality is better than a stuffed animal or a cheap nationalistic gift that will sit in the draw for years until it gets moved to the attic and later to the shed.

Clocks, fancy picture frames, jewellry for the mum, trivetts (to put hot pots on the table) of native wood went down well at Christmas time.

Good luck!

A little late, but I suppose I should reply to this. I've come and gone already and decided to go with the census, and bring a bottle of liquor. But not just any bottle. I found out that they are big fans of Hennessy cognacs and decided to go with what they know and love. I ended up going a little overboard, but it paid off very well. It really helped break the ice and they were extremely pleased with the offering.

So thanks to all who offered suggestions, I really appreciate the help.
