Maternity or Health care?

Post by pliu » Mon Jan 19, 2004 6:37 pm

I am a little bit confused with this terms here in Finland.
I am pregnant ( 1 month I think) and I am living here since September 2003.
I need to go to the doctor to do the pre natal exams, and I have been reading a lot about the health care here in Finland but I am still confused.
How the things work here in Finland when a womam, get pregnant?

Thanks in advanced for who can clear my mind I am so worried.

Firstly, congratulations!

Next, don't worry, I am sure everything will be fine.

I'm certianly no expert on these matters, but you could try this link ... tueng.html or, just go to your local health centre, I'm sure that they will be more than happy to advise you the things you should do and when.

Hi and congratulations! First step to do is to call your city's health central and ask them to point you to closest maternity clinic 'äitiysneuvola'. Maternity clinic will take care of everything, arrange check up's and answer your questions.
