Confused on what to do ?

Post by Sannahman » Fri Dec 06, 2019 4:01 pm

If someone lives in Finland on a four years continuous A type residence permit and he loses the grounds he or she exactly the same day he or she got four years in Finland. And the person has a full time job, can he or she use that as a new grounds to apply for his or her permanent residence permit..? And will she be given new one year residence permit or permanent residence permit? I heard once you have completed your continuous A type four years residence permit, you are entitled to a permanent residence permit with a new strong grounds. Any quick answer will really help.

You are eligible for a permanent permit as long as you satisfy the conditions of any type A permit.

Thanks for your help. And even though the previous grounds for the A type permit is no more, using work as a new grounds will grant the permanent residence permit? And will the rest of the previous A type that leads you to five years given you grace period be canceled immediately?

I want to assume in this case you are divorced. It is however not a problem at all. As long as you have lived here for 5 years with a class A visa, you qualify for a permanent permit of citizenship.

If your situation had changed at the beginning when you had the one year visa, it could have been a problem.

Don't be worried at all and make the application.

Neither class A visa nor permanent permit of citizenship exist. There are A and P type residence permits.
