Lullaby from the '60s or a plain children's song

Post by Eliisaihminen » Fri Jul 03, 2020 6:24 am

Hei kaikki,

Can anyone help me figure out a lullaby my auto, mummu and her mother probably as well used to sing?

If I'm to post this on the culture section instead or somewhere else please let me know.

What I remember is that it was mid to low tempo and they used to use to rock me in a chair.

It definitely started with a word that sounded like kika/kiika/kikaa then the second beat and word was kukka/kuka/kuuka

Like this

Kiiiika
Kuuuka
Something something something with a hard rolled r Mita moota.

I know this sounds crazy but I have been googling this on and off for years now. Any help is appreciated. Kiitoksia!

Ei, anteeksi. It is the right tempo though.

I listened to everything on the page just in case and googled all the ones with a majority sounds that didn't have a sample but it's none on those page.

Kiitos for the page.

I would guess the poster was born in the 1960s to a now deceased Finnish mother. The poster lives abroad and does not speak Finnish.

There's a song by a comedian called Kiikun kaakun kukkaset. Any similarities in the lyrics? :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKHuxYs7nYI

Chorus:

"Niin kukkii kiikun kaakun kukkaset
Sinä kun annoit rukkaset
Kuinka pärjään pakkaset?
Kuka parsii sukkaset?
Suuret surut sydämen
Rikkaruohot rakkauden
Jälkeen vuosien pitkien
Minä kitkin itkien

Kiikun kaakun kukkaset
Sinä kun annoit rukkaset
Kuinka pärjään pakkaset?
Kuka parsii sukkaset?
Prinssi uljas satumaan
Jälleen joutuu katumaan
Näinkö käy kun rakastuu
Aina ruusut lakastuu"

I think it's more likely he took inspiration from perhaps the same lullaby, perhaps a different one. Can't immediately find your lullaby. You can try asking a librarian: https://www.libraries.fi/ask
