Hi,
I am a Finnish citizen planning to permanently work remotely for a Finnish employer from outside of EU. I am planning to visit Finland and work at my employer premises every 3 months for a week or two.
I was wondering about what kind of tax rules would apply for me and what are the things I need to keep in mind when moving out
Kind regards

The tax treaty between Finland and your country of residence applies.justanotherguy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 1:36 pmI am a Finnish citizen planning to permanently work remotely for a Finnish employer from outside of EU. You will have to continue paying Finnish taxes on your worldwide income for 3 years after your move:

"If you work continuously for a period longer than six months in another country, your wages may be exempt from Finnish tax (in reference to the six-month rule)."FinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:33 pmThe tax treaty between Finland and your country of residence applies.justanotherguy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 1:36 pmI am a Finnish citizen planning to permanently work remotely for a Finnish employer from outside of EU. For Finnish citizens this will only become relevant when their Finnish tax residency ends after 3 years.betelgeuse wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 10:47 pm"If you work continuously for a period longer than six months in another country, your wages may be exempt from Finnish tax (in reference to the six-month rule)."FinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:33 pmThe tax treaty between Finland and your country of residence applies.justanotherguy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 1:36 pmI am a Finnish citizen planning to permanently work remotely for a Finnish employer from outside of EU. You will not find such a condition in TVL or vero.fi.FinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 11:18 pmFor Finnish citizens this will only become relevant when their Finnish tax residency ends after 3 years.

One needs to separate tax residence under domestic law and whether income gets taxed. The former only means that the income needs to be reported to Vero and they will then asses whether tax is due on it.
