Hi
Does anyone have any recommendations for removal companies; I'm relocating in July/August from Bristol, UK and would like to know of a reliable, reasonably priced company to use.
Kiitos paljon
Karin

Re: Removal companies from UK to FInland
Here are a few companies with Quote forms to fill out etc:
Whites and Company have an excel form to download, fill out and return by email.
http://www.whiteandcompany.co.uk/quote.php
This site lets yo choose the area of the uk you will leave and lets you fill in a single form and submits it to selected removal companies in that area. http://www.intlmovers.com/vervolg2.asp? ... ountry=223
Companies include (Each have online quote forms.)

Hi Karin,
We just relocated from London to Espoo at the end of March and went with Coles Removals (http://www.colesremovals.co.uk) who came with brilliant references. Theirs was by far the most reasonable quote and we did receive our stuff a few days ago, but otherwise we were not toooo thrilled with them. The service is very friendly, but they are a very busy family-operated company and we had to chase them up on a few issues as they were too busy to get back to us. Also, the delivery took a month to the day, which I find was too long (they originally quoted 13 days as the average to Finland). A few pieces of our furniture were broken in the move, but they do have pretty comprehensive insurance so we should be compensated OK.
The contents of our two-bedroom flat (mostly Ikea flat-pack furniture) was £2500 door to door, including packing service on the day of the move and all packing materials. This was less than half of some other companies (like Victor Ek), but then it depends on what you want to pay for. Coles was pretty good value for money.
Hope this helps!

Re: Removal companies from UK to FInland
I'm afraid I have to review my previous opinion on J.A.Coles Removals. Our move was in March and we still have not received the insurance compensation. When we alerted them to the fact that we need to make a claim, they sent us the forms which requested all kinds of paperwork that we never received from the company (such as numbered inventory lists; of course we have our own detailed inventory). The claim took several months to process and was only resolved after I poked them about it. I received the decision, which was that I would be paid the value of the damaged items less a $50.00 excess. Problem is that this excess does not appear in any of the insurance paperwork we signed and/or received. After challenging this, they agreed to send us a £50.00 cheque. Still waiting to receive any money.
EDIT 11/01/2012: We finally received the £50 excess refund in December 2011. Nearly four years after the move, but better late than never.

We recently relocated from Bolton UK to Sweden using J A Coles (Manchester devision) This company is almost too good to review, making a difficult time easier and going the extra mile to provide a quality service. I can't recommend them highly enough. After shopping around for quotes we eliminated the low and high prices and decided to go for one of the mid ranged companys. We have been extreemly impresed with 'our' move and would happily recommend them to anyone thinking of moving. For a hassle free, professional and courtous service choose J A Coles.

You moved from Bolton (UK?) to Sweden (which is not actually in Finland) and you registered on Finland Forum, today, to write a post which sounds suspiciously like it was written by a copywriter.
