I emailed them over a week ago. No response other than some automated stuff. It’s fine; I’m going to immigration to apply today anyway, so I will know soon.ynginvstr wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 1:18 amYes, I have read once at Migri that you can stay in Finland as long as the decision on your application isn't made. And you can stay in Finland even if your Visa expires while waiting for the decision.undertakerfreak wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 12:11 amIs it true that you can wait in Finland with your spouse until a decision is made on a residence permit? US citizen here.
I can't find where I read it exactly, but I am sure and certain that I read it. Right now, the website is being updated, and some pages are not availables yet.
If you're in doubt, why don't you email them to make sure — [email protected], or spend some time reading their website.

Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
Does anyone know how it is with registration of Right of residence (EU citizens moving to finland)? Does it also take long time till decision? I was reading that decision is made right there at place where i will apply for it. But i feel like i missunderstand the text and i will also need to wait.
Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
If all fine with your documents, you get the decision right there at the office when you apply. In case of RP for family members of EU citizen will take months.
Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
Who else is still waiting from 2017? Our application is still ongoing ..applied April 2017.
Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
Does anyone notice that the queue for the residence permit based on the spouse of a Finnish citizen states 0 on the migri website?

Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
Yeah, that’s pretty weird.
When I applied with my wife back on the 18th of May, the man was impressed by how prepared we were with our documents and forms. He said he’s confident the decision will be made sooner than nine months. Does anyone know of any examples of people who received a decision much sooner than nine months based on a family ties (spouse) application? I applied in Helsinki, so at least I get to stay here for however long it takes.
Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
My application is 6 months old now. Haven't heard from them yet.undertakerfreak wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 4:36 pm

Re: Residence permit (family ties) processing
Today my husband got positive decision of RP, we have waited 8 months and 9 days. We waited about 6 months to be processed, then I answered questioners, my husband went for interview, I attached supplements and answered more questions. And thanks migri and God, that finally we got the good decision. Good luck everyone. <3 <3 <3
