Moving to Finland in March

Post by Sighthound » Mon Jan 15, 2018 12:47 pm

So, all decided, i'll be moving to FInland in March for 6 months initially.

After 6 months i will decide if i can stay more or not.

I have some questions:

I'm an EU Citizen, could do the first 6 months like if i'm on holiday?
I will work from home for my english employer, and i will need to rent house/open an electricity contract and a broadband contract.
Do i need henkilötunnus to do this?

No. You can only do 3 months. After that, you have to register your right of residence with the authorities.

In most cases, yes.
Every f*cking case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online. Stop being a moron!

Thanks,
could someone also help me with the following.

I will be working for a company in UK ( where i work now ).

is it correct that:

If i stay only 6 months i pay taxes only in uk.

If i continue to stay after 6 months, i pay Wage taxes in finand but i can continue to pay social taxes in uk for up to 2 years.

Now, if i continue to stay do i need to pay back taxes also for the first 6 months?

Have you looked at what the tax treaty says? https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... x-treaties
http://google.com http://translate.google.com http://urbandictionary.com
Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.
