Blue card to Nationality

Post by houseofcard » Tue Apr 02, 2019 2:20 pm

Hi all,

I have been working in Finland with "residence permit for a special expert" Visa type.
Now that I have been promoted, I will earn more than the average salary needed for Eu Blue card for which I am thinking of applying.

My question is ..should I apply for it ?

Does it make my process of getting nationality any faster ?
for example in some countries after you get a blue card - you can get nationality in further 21 months if you do the language b1. is this the same case in Finland ?

if your intention is to get Finnish citizenship based on your work then you should be in Finland for 4 years continuously in A-type permit and need to submit sufficient Finnish language skilled certificate.

There are some exception if u prove that you don't need the Finnish language in your work area  or submit medical papers that you can't learn the language.

The exception is if you prove that you need Finnish citizenship for your job. Nothing to do with not needing the language for your work area.
