I am Canadian who has been living in France and my husband is Finnish living in Finland.
We are about to have our first baby in June and would like to settle afterwards in Finland (August 2019) I have read conflicting messages online about whether to apply for RP before or once in Finland wondering if anyone has any experience.
Although I have a canadian passport I will have residence permit also for france.
Is it true if you apply for the RP before you can not enter finland until it's completed but if apply for RP after entry then I can stay while it's being processed?
Thank-you in advance for any help.

Yes. If you don't want to wait months RP abroad (as my wife had to wait 7 months)...
It is so easy to use your current RP first and arrive to finland with that.
