Sending supplementary documents by email?

Post by quillcentaur » Thu May 30, 2019 10:56 am

Hello,

I applied for RP in paper form. Got supplementary questions by physical mail. They told me to send the documents to Finnish Immigration Service. They also wrote "If you send the information to Finnish Immigration service by e-mail, please remember you do so at your own risk. The connection is not secure"

Is it only warning me that my info might be leaked out? (Not a big deal for me. No sensitive info on documents)
Or could they claim that my email was "lost" and that they didn't receive it?

I'm probably overthinking this, but just want other people's input. Thank you. Thinking of just emailing them. Will save me 12.8 euros on train cost. Ha.

Email bounces through many servers and it can be read in any of them by third party. I prefer email because it is less likely to be lost than snail mail and you get notification if you eff up the address.

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

The registry (kirjaamo) will reply with a verification that the message has been received.
