Thanks... Not yet... I'm waiting for my resident permit card and my permit also starts on August 1st.

why 1st of August ? did you defer your admission ?

Yeah.. I was supposed to got last year but I couldn't prove my identity on time... So I had to defer... And it's 1st August because school starts in late August... As far as I know... They did tell me I can go when travel is allowed again.. So I don't know.. Maybe I could go before first August

Hi,

received a positive decision from Authority today. The permit is from 1st of August 2020. Luckily my Uni had also made a special provision for me to start my course in August. Lets hope that this Pandemic ends soon, and we are able to travel to Finland and start our studies.

Congratulation.. did you have a admission for January semester ? have you uploaded documents of your university which show you can start your course in August ?

My course was supposed to start in Jan, but due to the delay in the decision, the Uni made a special provision for starting the course in Aug.

They didn't ask any documents other than what I had originally submitted for form.

I think there are a few things that one should keep in mind while submitting their documents.
1) Origin of funds which in my case was my salary statement from my previous employers and also Income Tax Return filing slips
2) A strong reason for requesting the residence permit.
3) More than sufficient funds in the bank.
4) A valid Health Insurance (if its renewable yearly and you have applied for 2 year permit, please mention that in the form)
5) A study place.
