PR -- Family ties to EU citizen

This question is on behalf of my friend.

He is married to an EU citizen, his wife who is from Denmark and she has lived in Finland for over 20 years. They got married in 2019 and have been living in Finland since then. He is a holder of a residence card issued by Finland under EU family law Directive 2004/38/EC. He will qualify for permanent residency in year 2024. However, due to the nature of his work, he is often traveling outside of Finland, mostly to Asia.

How will this effect his permanent residence application in a few years? Is migri going to question his extended periods of leave from Finland or is it sufficient that he maintains a permanent address in Finland with maistraatti and is officially registered to be living in Finland, Does migri check entry and exits into Finland and EU at the time of grant of Permanent Residency status, flight data, entries and exits into EU or Finland?

How can he make sure that he is eligible for PR in four years time without having to change jobs?

It also requires spending the majority of his time in Finland.
Not telling Vero about income/gifts/inheritance/... received (or gifts given) anywhere in the world would be a crime.

They can even check later, false statements in the application are a reason for cancelling permanent permits.

From section 161g of the Aliens Act:

"Continuity of residence is not affected by temporary absences not exceeding six months a year, or longer absences to undertake compulsory military service, or one absence of a maximum of twelve consecutive months for important reasons such as pregnancy or childbirth, serious illness, study or vocational training, or a posting in another EU Member State or a third country."

Owning a bicycle does not incur taxes.
If his parents give him a 5000 Euro bicycle as a gift he has to pay gift tax to Vero.
