hi guys!
i am from Bangladesh.
well...i am about to apply for the student residence permit and i am still a bit confused about two things:
1) My bank statement: i have already deposited the required amount and also issued for a visa card. will it be confusing if i provide both my savings account statement and the FDR details of my credit card? moreover, my father (who is my sponsor) has also provided me with an affidavit as a clarification of the source of the money- will this be necessary? what else should i do?
2) my health insurance: i have managed to find a list of the companies of whose policies are accepted by the Schengen countries from VFS global's website and i took out the insurance policy from one of the local private insurance providers. however, they handed me 10/12 pages- should i scan and upload the entire policy or will the pages with my information will do the work?
this forum has been very helpful and i look forward to your further assistance. Thanks in advance
bank details and health insurance clarification
Re: bank details and health insurance clarification
1) All you need is a statement of the money in a bank account in your name. Since you're from a risk country, it's also good that the money has been in your account for a while. Beyond that, ask specific information from the embassy.
2) Just the page(s) with your info and the policy type.
2) Just the page(s) with your info and the policy type.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

"Sponsorship agreements provided by relatives, friends or employers are not acceptable as the funds must be transferred to your own account." So be veeery clear what you mean by sponsor or affidavit. You don't want the officials thinking, you want to show you have enough money to live.

the affidavit is on behalf of my father stating that he has transferred the required money to my account, along with statements that basically sums up his financial status!
could you please clarify what you exactly mean when you say 'you don't want the officials thinking, you want to show you have enough to live' ? -would it be risky if they thought i have more than enough financial support?
Re: bank details and health insurance clarification
Hey guys, when getting the residence permit for studying do I get a social security number?
Re: bank details and health insurance clarification
You do, but sadly you don't get the manners that teach you not hijack other people's questions with a completely new one for yourself.zamoram wrote:Hey guys, when getting the residence permit for studying do I get a social security number?

Re: bank details and health insurance clarification
Officials don't care about your father's financial status, they care about your financial status. You are not your father. Officials check that _you_ have the needed funds. Lump sum transferred to your account just before application might make the officials think that you have loaned money to show the required amount and will transfer the funds away after the decision... and if they think so the decision will be negative. So don't make the officials think, just give them the needed info. Think as someone who processes the applications: "Is all the needed stuff here... acceptance, health insurance, money to live on... yes, yes, yes. NEXT!" vs "Is all the needed stuff here... acceptance, health insurance, statements... what statements?!? Why are these here? Is there some foul play going on?"ms.p wrote:Upphew wrote:Visa is for visiting up to three months. Residence permit is for residing.
