Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Oh and one more thing. The queue is barely moving for me. I was roughly 4700-ish when I submitted my application and I’m 4400-ish now.
Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Hello everyone! Since I proved my Identity in June, I've not been able to see my place on the queue due to the fact that Kamu broke down during the month of May and early June! I checked today and I could see my place on the queue, i guess the problem has been fixed I just felt I should share this, so that others having this same issues to check if theirs is working.

@Stone360
Thanks for sharing! What is your queue number? It now works for me too. Apparently there is 5200+ applications in front of me. Country not on the list.

I'm not sure if I should share this or not because it may be alarming, but I submitted at the start of April, and my queue number was in the low 5000s. It is now in the low 4300s. My country is not on the list.letseatpizza wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:58 pmOh and one more thing. The queue is barely moving for me. Your place in queue went up?? When did you apply and when did you prove your identity if I may ask?alexilaiho wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 9:29 pmif it's any comfort , in mai or april i dont remember, my queue went up from 3800 to 4500, yeah 700
It could have been the case that you submit,paid and visited Migri within a few days, so there are people who visited after you but they submitted their applications before, so they are ahead in the queue compare to you.

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Has there been anyone with a work based residence permit got unemployed when waiting for the citizenship application?
I wonder how would an unemployed period affect the decision, could one get a negative decision for that?

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
well, i applied in february, applied and proved visited the same day, it went up shortly after the backlog, but well i dont think the queue have any meaning, i contacted them, their response was that according to the actual queuing situation, the average is 8 months, i guess since my country is not in the list, so someone from the list should expect around 16 months maybe.akuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 9:01 pmYour place in queue went up?? But one needs to have a realiable source of livelihood, at least during the whole period of residence and should continue afterwards, as far as I understand.alexilaiho wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:32 ami highly doubt it would affect you, work is not a requirement from what i heard.akuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 9:06 pmHas there been anyone with a work based residence permit got unemployed when waiting for the citizenship application?

well I don't have the right answer . but I can say I've seen many people who have never worked getting it. some with even a shady past. but you can always ask a lawyer to be sure.akuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 3:05 pmBut one needs to have a realiable source of livelihood, at least during the whole period of residence and should continue afterwards, as far as I understand.alexilaiho wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:32 ami highly doubt it would affect you, work is not a requirement from what i heard.akuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 9:06 pmHas there been anyone with a work based residence permit got unemployed when waiting for the citizenship application?

Sadly, not. I am waiting since Spring of 2020. Applied as a spouse of a Finnish citizen. The problem for me might be that I came to Finland without a residence permit (because I had right to come and stay for short time without visa) and I applied once I was here and married. Migri might have put my application in a very slow line, but it has been one year and a half! UNBELIEVABLE.

Re: Citizenship Application 2021
Also, something people should know and stop posting about the queue: it IS NOT an indication on the process speed of any application. It just depends on which office (and type of queue) your application ends up, and this varies by different factors: whether you came to Finland with a residence permit or not and if you have a valid passport.

Is there such thing as fast and slow queue for citizenship application?
