Hello Everyone !

I have questions related to Citizenship Application.

I am from Pakistan and it is in the list of countries for which identification process might takes longer.

I want to know that how long does it takes for those countries ?

Minimum of 18 months I think, my country is on the list also and my application is 14 months and some days, still in stage 1.

16 months is quite a long time! I'd be writing them emails every day until they get sick of me and give me a real decision.

Well, I have an update about my case.

Moved to stage 2 on 19.2.2021
Positive decision made on 26.3.2021
I'm a Brazilian national on a permanent residence permit based on family ties(Finnish wife).

Wish you good luck on your case.

Congrats. For permanent RP its a normal time. Understandable.

Does positive decision say “ you have been granted citizenship” kinda thing? And is your citizenship status updated on population system?

Thanks.

A brief summary of my experience. The entire process at the Migri office was approx. 10mins. The officer requested for my passi, made copies of the data page and other pages containing travel stamps, he later requested to see the hardcopy of my YKI test result. He asked about my work history ever since I've been living in Finland, fortunately I've only had just one employer. He didn't bother to check the other documents we were asked to bring along, he claimed there is no need for such since I did an electronic application with all my documents already uploaded. He said it will take roughly a year for the process, and if there are any other things reuqested of me, I will get the notification on enterfinland portal.
The question bugging my mind now, if this is the process why do we need to visit the office in person if all documents have been uploaded. Booking appointment wasn't that easy as no free slots were that available on the website, I was lucky to find a free slot in another town where I had the appointment. Imagine waiting for 3 months before getting an appointment to appear for a meeting that will last barely 10mins, and not including that to the waiting time for decision that takes forever.
I think the idea is to see how well you can speak Finnish. As you may know, some people have some language certificates that they can’t defend, probably someone wrote the test for them. That’s my guess though.

Also to verify the authenticity of the documents you uploaded. If you get language result and past, but cannot speak a word, it’s suspicious. Maybe many other reasons. Migri is a mystery.

Can someone please advise?
Putting together the documents for citizenship application and wondering what needs to go under “past sources of income). I’m of course attaching my current employment agreement and payslips but do I need to do the same for ALL jobs I had? Old employment agreements, salary slips, etc? How did you guys fill in this section?

Hi!
I did receive an e-mail and a text message on the phone saying that they made a decision about my case. I was doing my exercises at home and stopped everything straightaway! Opened my Enter Finland thing and there was a message in red saying that my permanent resident permit was cancelled. I almost !"#¤% my pants! But then I opened up my application and there said that from 24.3.2021 I was a Finnish citizen and they asked me to give my PR back to the police station. So then I went online and booked for the passport application for the next day at the police station. And at the police station I gave back my PR and everything was ok. On Maaistraatti it shows now my first citizenship as Finn and second as Brazilian.

I really hope that your case gets a positive decision soon because it feels great!! Good luck!

Great, congratulations.

You have wrote also sometime ago: "My queue number was around 2800 when it was moved to stage 2." - could you answer, what was your queue number initially?

Sure,
My name on the queue started at 3.133 and it was moving forward about 20 a day. Around 2800 I was moved to stage 2. And during this time I only sent them my payslips. Pretty straightforward on my case.👍
