Cheap place to get exhaustion pipe

Post by Guest » Tue Sep 30, 2003 8:27 pm

Hey, does anyone know a place where I can get a new exhaustion pipe for a decent price?

I was in Espoo today (first place I went after a couple of places that told me they don't have the pipe that I need) and they shocked me by saying that for the two pieces (last piece and middle piece) I had to pay the dear amount of € 477,90. Dingdingdingding!!!

In Holland I would get a complete exhaustion system with that kind of money. I know Finland is a tad bit more expensive, but this is a difference of € 200 at least. And I refuse to believe that it can't be any cheaper.

Any suggestions?

(the car is a Honda Prelude Type II, 1994).

Ask any car guy - the guy is notorious. Need to ask in the pub tomorrow. Someone here had been to him IIRC.

It is good to find a decent garage. I just had a wing mirror replaced (and painted). First couple of place said it would be 150 for the mirror plus work. Found a guy 90 for materials plus work came upto 150 and it looks great.

It is good to shop around. What type of car is it?

Hank, do you mean the guy next door to glass shop (Help!) in Kannelmäki?

That would be Kantelettarentie 11 I think, sort of the back-side of the Kannelmäen ostoskeskus. I can't remember the name of the pipe shop though. I had some work done there a couple of years ago. Quick and cheap as I recall. They'll fit the pipes to just about any model of car.

I called this guy and he was indeed in pakoputkit. Only he doesn't speak English.

I tried in Finnish, but now I got a price that's somuch cheaper that I'm wondering if I said something wrong

That was quite good!

In the other place in Espoo they told me I needed two new parts, and it would cost me € 477,90.

I went to Risto Tiittanen, they took a look at it, told me that I needed only one new part and it cost me € 70 !!

Hank, roopemills, I owe you one!
