I'd use Huuto.net, if it's not selling, likely you're asking too much. Laptops age quite fast, two-three years old and there isn't much resale value left in them. Pawnshops (or any other business) will pay less than an individual buying for their own use.

You were selling that HP Omen? I took a peek and saw that I would get basically the same (minus 10 on the graphics card, might have been a gig or two less memory on that too and 8xxx series i7 as cpu) for 1700€. Over 2k€ from private person, thus no warranty. Or 1700€ for new one from verkkokauppa.com with full warranty. That is a no-brainer for me.Nolubhay wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:24 pmHi all,
I am sorry to bother you with this question in this section, but I am looking for information on where I would go in Uusimaa to sell a used laptop.
I tried online, for a long time, here and on tori. I am considering just packing it in a backpack and going to a store to sell it.
Are there stores like that in Helsinki? Espoo? Vantaa?
Did anybody here have an experience like this before? Can you recommend a shop somewhere?
I hope someone knows, thanks in advance.
You might get bites for, albeit for a lot less even then, from muropaketti.com bbs or io-tech.fi's bbs. Both are forums for nerds and their for sale and wanted boards are more likely to have people reading that would buy a laptop of that caliber. Joe Shcmoes scouring tori and huutonet are much less likely to buy gaming laptop. Thenagain they might not check what is available as new...

Even if there was such a store (maybe there is, I've always sold mine via Huuto.net), what you'd get is the selling price they're expecting to get minus their profit, which is easily in the hundreds. To the prospective buyers it doesn't matter what you paid for it, it's about what they can get elsewhere for the same money, see e.g. https://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product ... n-10-musta While not exactly the same spec, it's easily comparable, and it's new with a three year warranty. Just put an ad on Huuto.net, starting from e.g. 1000€ and a price reserve to what you're still willing to sell it for. Doesn't cost you anything, at the very least you'll get an idea what the laptop is worth in the market.Nolubhay wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:51 pmThe spirit of this thread was to find a physical location maybe somewhere in Helsinki, a store I can walk into and negotiate its sale with the owner. There is such a thing in other countries, not sure if it's applicable to Finland, considering that here the average consumer can order one from verkkokauppa and get it within 5 days. (with installments).
Argg, anyway, thank you all and I hope that if you remember some store name somewhere you can point me in the right direction.

Well, let see... 1500 would be too much for me. Used goods from private seller and with new stuff available under the 2k mark. With GTX 1070 too. See eg power.fi (where I can pay with credit card). Or slap that computer (under 2k again) to your phone bill from elisa.fi or telia.fiNolubhay wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:51 pmHi, I appreciate your honest post. I do, however there are a few things you're not right about and I would like to point them out in a friendly manner, first of all your comparison of finding one just like it for 1700e is like someone telling a person selling a Samsung Galaxy S9 that they can find a cheap S7 somewhere else. I am not selling the s7 i am selling the s9, so basically while you said minus 10 on the graphics cards (thats basically around 500 euroes less than a better graphics card if you know about those prices)
I do however appreciate the suggestions on those forums, I think you're right, this might only get sold if I appeal to a specific gamer crowd.
All said, I thank you for your post, and you're right the price is a little too much, maybe instead of going down 700 euroes from original price I could go down 800, we'll see. Also, how much would you offer theoretically for mine?
I'd probably go to verkkokauppa.com and get Lenovo with larger ssd for 1799.
No idea. But they would have to make the sale fast. And the price should reflect that.Nolubhay wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:51 pmThe spirit of this thread was to find a physical location maybe somewhere in Helsinki, a store I can walk into and negotiate its sale with the owner. Plenty of pawn shops. Google helsingin pantti but you will be lucky to get a couple hundred euros and definitely not more than €500 for it there.
Re: A place in uusimaa where I can sell used electronics?
Has OP or anyone found a better solution?
My laptop needs repair again and I don't want it after repair is done (or better if some shop can take laptops with small repair needed). Ultrabooks are shockingly fragile compared to gaming laptops.
I don't care about the price as it's some 3yr old top-end model and no selling price is enough for compensation.. will never buy a laptop again.

Re: A place in uusimaa where I can sell used electronics?
There quite many companies (for instance Cimos orTaitonetti in Oulu) that buy used laptops but only from companies (min seem to be somewhere between 5-20 pcs). The only one I found which buys from individuals is this one but they are located in Tampere.

Try something like this maybe
https://swappa.com/sell/laptops
Sorry. I was thinking swappie which is Finnish based not the above link. It seems swappie only does phones.
